Svartifoss waterfall (Parking)

  Good hiking out to the valley. Take the left train through the lava fields. Will come upon a hidden waterfall near the end. Then across the bridge and up the mountain trail to head back to the lodge.

  Nice parking spot. Has information about the hiking route that leads to Svartifoss waterfall. There is also standard facilieties like toilets, tiny shop. You can also find here two booking centers for adventures into the glacier. Daily parking cost for a standard car is 600 ISK.

  Schöner und gut ausgebauter Parkplatz am Eingang zum Nationalpark. Das parken ist kostenlos. Im Sommer wird es hier aber schnell eng.

  Mooie waterval, je kan er achterlangs lopen (pas op, je wordt wel nat). Helaas is het er de hele dag door erg druk.

  We had a guided glacier walk with Icelandic Mountain Guides and it was fantastic.
  Maja, our guide was great in explaining and answering questions. A unique experience.

  Aloha! This is a Beautiful Park. The one to see Svartifoss. Waterfall that inspired the engineers of Hallgrimskirkja Church. Amazing yet simple waterfalls. The way to Svartifoss was full of inclines up a hill. So if you are carrying a back pack and gear be aware that unless you are in great shape it will take some effort to get there. Otherwise, it is not a bad leisurely walk as on the way back is downhill and easy. Make sure you have the right clothing as it can rain at any given time. It is a must stop to see in South Iceland.

  El parking es grande y se puede dejar el coche. También puedes comer en él, o descansar, incluso pasar la noche si vas en caravana. Es gratis, lo que es importante siempre.
