Ambience it does not have It's basically a gas station restaurant. But don't let that fool you, as other reviewers have said I had the best lamb soup I've had so far in Iceland (from several tries) and the best lamb burger I've had anywhere, all for extremely cheap by Icelandic standards. Eat here!
Really good little shop, has everything you need: food, camping stuff, souvenirs and even a little restaurant! I recommend it!
Great food at a great value. So good, we ate here two nights in a row. Pizzas and burgers were both excellent.
Possibly one of the best lamb burgers I’ve ever had! Skip the cafeteria at the glacier and come here for delicious food at a very fair price. Service was friendly and accommodating as well. Five stars!
Had some mushroom soup here which was delicious. I'm not a big mushroom eater, but this soup here was the bomb! All of the dishes I saw here looked really good and appetizing.
The lamb burger tasted great and good value for money (Iceland standard) 1,550 ISK for a burger french fries and a drink . Friendly staff too.
The fish & chips were very good and didn't taste frozen. The leg of lamb was falling off the bone. They also had a hot all you can eat buffet with a good variety of items. Prices were all much more affordable than in the city. Beer on tap and friendly service was a plus.
It's a great stop on the way to the Foss hotel if you're staying there for the night and not into fancy overpriced food. The food here has much better value and is delicious! I really enjoyed the fish and chips. They also offer all you can eat with steam table dishes such as vegetables, schnitzel, chili, and some sort of chunky soup. Yum!
Great stop between Reykjavik and the Glacier Lagoon
Tasty food and great beer!
Best value meal on my 3 days South Coast adventure tour. The only place that serves real lamb shanks, cooked nicely, and with reasonable price! Even their burgers are big and nicely presented! Busy busy busy! The shop is also like a general store. The postcards are reasonably priced too! Highly recommended if you are going this way.
Was a nice place to dine in. If you like souvenirs they are also available for purchase. The food was great and relatively cheap. And the place was clean and tidy. Would recommend even if for a rest stop or a meal.
Good price. Isk2850 for 2 lamb leg with side of your choice and mash potatoes. The lamb leg was very nice and tender.
Gets busy if there more than one coach turning up at the same timeso get in there quick!
Gas station/rest stop with a cafeteria style food counter. If you take a day tour to Diamond Beach or an ice cave, you'll probably end up here. The lamb chops with potatoes were ok. They also serve fish or hamburgers.
Really good deal for a meal in Iceland
Accepts card and cash
The restaurant is connected to a convenience store so you can pick up chocolate on your way out.
Ordered the beef and lamburger. It was a good meal for the price.
For your drink you can pick out anything you want from there selection.
A decent burger at a reasonable price. Tasted essentially like a big mac. Much better value than the fosshotel restaurant.
Great place. Free car wash (DIY). Nice food for a reasonable price compare to the rest of the Iceland. No free refill for lamb sup :)
Nice place, cheap fresh good food, great diner offer, too bad it closes at 21:00 Extremely expensive market though, even compared to other places in iceland (double from bonus) and not much choice, don't expect to make big provisions there !
This place is freaking delicious. The best lamb burger and lamb soup I ever had. If you get one of the burger combos you can have a can of beer as your drink as well. Has a WC, accepts credit card, and has WiFi.
Excellent quality food at reasonable prices (for Iceland)!! They also have a convenience store to stock up if you're going East. Had fish & chips, burger and ham sandwichall good.
We decided to chance it after reading the reviews on here and it didn't disappoint. Great service, good food and the cheapest dining out option we found in Iceland.
love love loved this!!!!! we stopped here on the way to vik and got the dinner set. the salmon was perfectly cooked and the lamb pieces tender and succulent. the buffet also offered assorted sides and dessert was a delightful cinnamon cake with whipped cream. well priced and located (although perhaps this restaurant holds a bit of a monopoly)- would return if I could!
Great food, good prices, authentic Icelandic experience. Rather than fork out $$$ for dinner at our hotel, we just wandered over the road and ate here with the Icelandic truck drivers. Cheap beer, huge leg of lamb, and the guy on the cash register was really patient with me when I tried to speak Icelandic to order. There's lots of souvenirs for sale too.
The burger and lamb stew here were top notch. A pleasant surprise given that this was a gas station in the middle of nowhere. They are clearly used to have BIG crowds as they were able to get our food out very quickly while dealing with about 40 other diners at the same time.
Great lamb burger and gratin to go with. Popular food stop.
I was pleasantly surprised with the food they serve here. Was not feeling the dining situation at our hotel across the street and saw a bunch of people walking towards this gas station. Great tasting burger and chicken sandwich. We came back the next day.
It's a OK place and gets very busy when is raining and all the tours were canceled. Just grab a instant Thai noodle, it comes with a fork inside and they have hot water in the coffee machine, best meal and cheap! Skip the terrible lamb burguers you can have it better in your country.
Delicious lamb burger (1490kr) and decent gratin. Probably the best value for money meal you can find around here.
