This is an out of the way spot but nice. When we were there it was 50/50 locals and tourists. The pool itself is about the size of your average public swimming pool. The bottom is gravel and stones. It is the temperature of your average hot tub and you can't stay in too long or you overheat. I took a few walks around the path to cool down. Expect to spend about two hours here. Admission was about $50 USD and kids were free. You have to rent towels. Drinks were reasonable. You shower in separate men/women showers just like gym class in high school. Lockers are free. Everybody enjoyed it.

Better than blue lagoon; the price is 1/3 of that and a better experience! There are lockers, towels, picnic tables and a bar for drinks. The water is always warm but fluctuates to HOT near the geothermal feed (won't burn though)! I spent 2-3hrs here for the sunset in February and had a perfect experience.

Visited on a tour so I don't know the entrance fee. Very welcome at the end of 8 hours of stunning scenery. Very clean. Showers. Suits and towels available. The oldest swimming pool in Iceland. Water temperature lower than a hot bath but very pleasant. You can buy beer and wine to drink in the pool.

This lagoon is great. Has a great atmosphere surrounded by nature. When we went there there were less people than expected, maybe in the ballpark of 40 or so with plenty of room to walk around. The water is pretty hot and getting out and walking the peripheral path through the hot springs and returning to the hot tub was very refreshing.

The reason for the low rating is because the day after we went I developed BURNING on the soles of my feet that is extremely uncomfortable. This is called “hot foot and hand syndrome“ and is a bacterial infection not terribly uncommon in hot tubs which are not sanitized well. My husband did not get this, so take your chances I guess. Otherwise it was an excellent experience.

Really enjoyed this spot! Arrived around 1pm, not a big crowd so it was peaceful and I was able to relax. Before I left a tour bus full of people showed up around 4, and the small pool looks very crowded. So glad I came early.
The sun came out which was great! The water is pretty hot, Like a hot tub around 100°. I stayed for about 2 hours and got out several times. And drank a lot of water! Bring your own food and drink. Like most places it's a little expensive. They have beer wine water juice and soft drinks. They also have some basic sandwiches chips and candy bars. The staff was really great, very welcoming :) I had a lovely experience and would definitely come back

The staff was nice and helped with local recommendations. The establishment itself was incredibly clean. I did not go to the Blue Lagoon, so I cannot compare. However, this is located just off the Golden Circle, near Geiser. It was very inexpensive and in a beautiful location. The water was pleasant and I felt great for the rest of the day. If you want to avoid crowds, this is the place to go!

A relaxed and friendly hot spring pool. As usual you'll be expected to shower well (and naked, don't mess around) while changing but the facilities are clean and warm with plenty of space so not an issue. Free lockers are available and you can hire towels and costumes. In the pool there are floats to use and you can pick a spot at just the right temperature. Very relaxing, you'll sleep well afterwards.

I have been to the Blue Lagoon and the Secret Lagoon and I like the Secret Lagoon better. It is quieter, feels more like a natural hot spring, the water is hotter(even too hot if you go too close to the one side), it is cheaper, there are shallow parts where you can sit, and you can even get out and walk around the hot springs. We had a great time and I could have stayed there much longer. It was so relaxing and easy.

We stopped here on our way back from busy day and it was lovely. Water was really warm mostly around +38 and even hotter as there are spots where boiling water comes in so this place is ideal for cold weather. Just keep moving around till find perfect spot for you. It wasn't busy at our arrival.
Simple cafe inside offers to bring drinks in.
Changing rooms provides lockers and simple showers. I brought over own towels but you can rent them at entrench and swim suit too.
Really decent price comparing with Blue lagoon.
Definitely recommend to stop by

What a great place! We stopped here after a day of sightseeing / driving around all day and it was the perfect way to relax after a long day of driving and hiking around in the winter.

Great facilities to shower and change and the lagoon itself is pristine. It was not super crowded when we went but I would still recommend booking in advance. As a bonus the price was not super inflated for tourists (like some others) and it was very easy to get to.

If your thinking about it then do it.you will be happy with your choice!

Not as amazing as the Blue Lagoon, but a decent, toasty soak and a great alternative if you haven't booked the Blue Lagoon. The spouting geysers across the road make a wonderful addition to the trip. Clean & spacious changing rooms, although I lost my towel (as looking after a 5yr old and a 72yr old), and they wanted to charge me a lot for a new one. I often get the feeling that Iceland is set up to make money from tourists, rather than to make them feel welcome / want to return.

This seemed like a hidden gem. Not a ton of tourist. Beautiful natural hot spring. I loved the black sand bottom. We went in the evening after doing the golden circle. It was super relaxing and just really enjoyable after a cold day. Really reasonably priced too. Would go every single day if I lived in Icelandlol 5 stars all the way.

This Lagoon is located about an hour and a half drive outside of Reykjavik. It's in a very nice small town and the admission is a lot more affordable Than Blue Lagoon. I was able to visit secret Lagoon as part of a golden Circle bus tour that I was taking. The good thing about this place is that it is more secluded and the admission is half the price of Blue Lagoon. The only extras you would have to pay for is bathing suit and towel rental if you do not bring your own. I felt so relaxed after visiting here for about 2 and 1/2 hours! And I also love how the water is clear as well!

A nice pleasant geothermal spa out away from Reykjavik. It was great to soak in the hot water during the cold weather. Different parts of the pool are at different temperatures, so you can find what is perfect for you. The whole place is clean and we'll maintained. You can look at the springs (and geyser) that feed the pool. They have a small snack bar serving drinks and sandwiches.

The lagoon itself was fantastic - even warmer than expected! Temperature in the water changes as you move around really clear water which is great and good shower facilities
food in the cafe was minimal, mostly just crisps and chocolate bars so a little disappointed with the range on the “menu”
For the hot spring - 5/5.., well worth a visit

Very quiet atmosphere far away from the cities. Easy to pee in the water without being noticed.

The pool and change facilities are very modern!

It costs extra to use a towel, so I just took a lot of free paper towels to dry myself. It created a lot of garbage, but I'm okay with that.

If you have spare time In Iceland (say a day or 2), I recommend a trip to the secret lagoon! It feels secluded, and the water is hotter/better than blue lagoon, let alone the price and the amount of crowd. It’s smaller but very good in value! Nice staff too.

I'm glad this was my first lagoon experience in Iceland. It may not be totally secret anymore, but it is secluded, and yet it has a nice new facility. The showers were clean, the water was warm, and the place is historical. The pool may not be gigantic, but there was plenty of room for everyone without getting into anyone else's business. Very relaxing and a nice interlude in my Golden Circle experience. I went to the Blue Lagoon too, and I liked this place better. Not pretentious here, not crowded, just very nice and simple and peaceful. Lots of nice people around.

The mild human cultivation of the existing geological spring was extremely well done. The gravel bottom of the "pool" couldn't have been better planned or executed for retaining the feeling of natural harmony. Being able to see geysers from the pool, and the flux of hot and extra-hot water also preserved a minimalist/rustic atmosphere. The prices were also superb. Also, the mushroom farm restaurant up the road made for a perfect start to our visit.

Great place that isn’t over ran by tourists. Clean clear water and hot in spots so it is nice to move around and find the temperature that was perfect. They sell beers and the tap water was clean and cold. Friendly staff and lockers are free.

Warm water, friendly staff, clean facilities that look great. Got a few laughs at the amount of grown men too shy or afraid to shower naked around other men. They serve beer and you can have it in the pool. Great place however don't understand the title secret as it most definitely isn't (Four people when we got in, over 20 and growing when we decided to leave.) and I believe they should put a sign up informing that silver jewelry be taken off due to its reaction with sulfur. They got lucky though because I appreciate the character it added to my ring.

We were looking for a place to have a bath and relax. and we stumbled upon this place on our last day. Which was just perfect exactly what we needed. It's extremely clean quiet relaxing. The only downside is that we didn't have more time. I would definitely recommend this place over the Blue Lagoon. Not only is it half the price but it's also the oldest one on the island.

Lovely, unpretentious spot. It is far smaller and less visibly commercial than the blue lagoon. There is one large pool with a soft gravel base.
The water is around 1m deep, and the temperature of a comfortable bath. Pool noodles are provided for old and young alike so can gently drift about. If you get a bit hot there are cold drinks for sale at the front desk.
As an Icelandic resident this is my favourite spot..

Very hot pool. 100c in some spots. Very relaxed environment and not overcrowded even at tour bus times. Secluded location and they've kept the pool very natural.

Actual geothermal hot spring. Half the price of the basic Blue Lagoon package, less crowded, and smaller. Bring your own towel if you can. Visit during their listed non-busy times. Neat experience, but I was done after 15 minutes.

Much warmer water than the Blue Lagoon. Water can get VERY hot in certain areas close to the water inlet.
€23.50 entry per person approx.
Beer, drinks, coffee and food available.
Like the Blue Lagoon it's off putting to see so much industrial buildings in the surrounding areas such as greenhouses, machinery etc but the area of the pool is great.
