You have to go there if you are in north Iceland! Very clean bath, friendly people and not to busy! With at least 4200 isk it's way more cheaper then the blue lagoon.

We visited in late March, towards the end of the day. We went here instead of the Blue Lagoon based on the fact reviews seemed similar, and this one seemed less 'touristy'. There were still a lot of people around, and it didn't seem as big or as busy as some of the Blue Lagoon photos I have seen. It wasn't all that blue, but that could have been because it was cloudy and getting dark. Later in our trip we visited some local hot springs (ones on the side of the road, and in backyards etc), and they had a much more authentic and non-tourist feel, and we found them more enjoyable and social than the more commercial Myvatn Baths.

We came here in April and we had like -5 degrees outside, but the bath was no problem. It's a smallish lagoon but there aren't that many tourists visiting it, so it's fine. The water temperatures are between 36 and 41 degrees. It has amazing view. The entry fee is about 4200 isk. The bath is very clean and modern

Came here in January and I think it is a lot better than Blue Lagoon in terms of the atmosphere and the water itself. There are two pools, one with around 40 degree Celsius and the other one is 30. Obviously, the 40 degree one was better, in my opinion 😁. The water was really soft, it didn't make my skin and hair dry. It actually kept my skin moist for a couple of days afterwards. Also the place wasn't too crowded. There was plenty of space to move around.

Loved it! All the facilities were clean and well-kept. The pools were the perfect temperature for a long, relaxing soak. Though we went in the off-season, the pools weren't terribly crowded until a tour group came through. A much cheaper option than the Blue Lagoon in the south!

Only 3 stars out of 5 because I couldn’t observe all serenities , I reached around 7 pm when sun was down and I couldn’t see beauty of water color and surroundings.
But they gave me discount I paid 2700 instead of 4000 because of lower than usual temperatures. 32 C normally it’s 37-40
But it was enough, warm and beautiful, small bath near main lagoon was very hot so u can jump there and stay for a while. And also very clean change rooms and sauna

We kind of found this place by accident whilst touring Iceland, but were glad we did. Apparently, it was "farmers day" on the afternoon we arrived and I got in for half price. It's a nicety extended to local men to relax. Nice. The water pools were different temperatures, but all outdoor, and all relaxing, soothing and hot.

Oh how I loved this place! We went there in the evening and could see the sunrise from inside the hotspring. It wasn't very busy (April), which was nice as well. The facilities were very good and very clean (shower, lockers, dressing room) and it was nice to be able to eat and drink something there as well. Definitely recommend!

An hour and a half drive from Akureyri. We spent an entire day soaking in the warm baths. We haven't been to Blue Lagoon, so we can't personally compare, but we've heard this one is less busy with tourists. The day we were here, there happened to be an entire bus load of English high school age students, but when they left shortly before sundown we did not feel like the baths were overly crowded. We attempted to stay late enough to see the northern lights, but light pollution from the building all but prevented that.

Visited with my partner during late September. We arrived in the early evening around 6PM. We stayed about an hour and a half.
At the time we arrived there were a lot of people, we were initially a bit concerned by the amount of cars in the carpark! It turned out okay, the facility and baths/pool area is very big and can easily accomodate a lot of people and still remain enjoyable.
It was a tad expensive for the experience I think but we still enjoyed it.
Before entering you must place your belongings in a locker area (you will get a key with a rubber bracelet/armlet which you can take in to the baths). Make sure to bring along your swimming outfit and a towel. You can rent a towel before entering but it's expensive.
Finally, after locking your stuff away you must shower in the shared locker room; One for men and one for women. The staff firmly ask that you shower nude and clean thoroughly. This helps keep the baths clean without harsh chemicals. Do note, in the locker rooms there are a couple of showers with curtains, but most are open. So either wait patiently or get comfortable!
The baths themselves aren't too hot, though you can swim around to different areas which have varying temperatures.response / report this review -

It's a smaller version of blue lagoon. It's nice but once you have been to the blue lagoon this seems like walk in the park. We were not fortunate to see the aureole while in the baths..But the staff is nice and facilities are fine. Ones with sulphur allergy should stay away.

Two main swimming areas.
They do not offer the silica mask like "blue lagoon". Very disappointed at that. Also fuzzy algae was growing on some of the walls and ramps. I'm sure this is normal .. but just to be noted so you know it's normal.
Quite a few people there .. kids .. tourists. Not really a relaxing atmosphere. Also it was super cold when we went.
I loves the sauna- super super hot though. Use caution on how long you stay in it.response / report this review -

very nice place but way too expensive. two adults was something around 8600. for that price i expect a bit more. the place is very clean and you have to shower naked. but clearly bot everyone is doing that. so i am really concerned about the water quality. you can also order drinks in the pool bit you have to ask for a special wristband at the reception. better not forget that.

Awesome location, we stayed for several hours, staff was extremely friendly, prices were fair for entrance fee and for drinks. I really liked to enjoy drinks and relaxing in the water the same time. Also the steam rooms were really nice. But the best of all was that the whole staff is really trustworthy! I forgot my expensive watch in the lockers, probably I was too relaxed at the end ;), so I left the bath without it. I noticed it 20-30 min later and returned and it was already after they had closed. A staff member noticed me at the door and opened up for me, they had already found my watch and it was waiting for me at the front desk and was directly returned to me. JUST AWESOME! Kudos to your whole staff! I talked to some of them and they were all very helpful and friendly and this experience at the end proofed that your whole staff should get a raise!! THANK YOU!

Although very expensive (4200 ISK pp) it is a magical place. We went there in the evening and the sunset was magnificent. Incredible views. We have not been to the blue lagoon, but I imagine this has better views. The somewhat cooler pool was less crowed, which I preferred over the hotter pool because of that.

Wow, this place has gotten expensive. 4400 krona ($43) for a dip in the pool? A discount of 2700 krona ($23) for students or senior citizens. Don't get me wrong, the view is amazing, but there is only one hot tub but it is not very warm and quite small, maybe 38c. I expected more from such a high entrance fee. Also, there is no steam room. The lifeguards are very nice though and happy to double as waitresses or photographers!

Cosy and neat. 3 levels of differently heated pools. A geothermal steam sauna which could've used a bigger window to take advantage of the great view. Free and available cold water and easily ordered beverages that you are allowed to drink in the pool.

My favorite of Iceland's formal hot baths, as the prices are reasonable, it's not too busy, it's open til midnight in summer, and the views? Oh, the views. They can't be beat. There's a lukewarm pool right at the edge (best views), a more central hot pool (it's hottest by the oven-looking vents), and a smaller rectangular tub that's my pick for the combination of personal space, hot water, and primo views. Friendly staff & good changing facilities. The to-go options in the cafe are rather lacking, however, so eat first if you plan on being here late dinner options at closing-time are rather nonexistent in this area.

Absolutely gorgeous view of the lake! A little less crowded and less expensive than the more popular baths. The facility is average. The 3 pools were not warm enough. One of the pool is empty because it's too cold. The other 2 become filled with people. I've been local swimming center with warmer jacuzzi.

Great value for money, costing around 3800ISK, you can spend hours and hours switching between the hot pools and the sauna, and even have a beer in the pool. There's waiting stuff that will take the order straight from where you are, in the pool, and serve the drinks. If you've got a camper van, you can shower and refill water tanks too.

Wow this was excellent. The views are excellent and it feels like you're sitting in top of a volcano. It's much much smaller than the blue lagoon but seemed more sheltered, and is plenty big, less crowded, and has three separate pools with distinct heat profiles. There are two hot rooms and there are two Signes saying geo warm and steam bath. You might think there's a sauna and steam room, but you'd be wrong. There are two rooms that are basically wet saunas. They're hot like a sauna, not steamy, and very wet. They're okay. There are pitchers of water on the way out f the changing room. The changing rooms are small, with two closed showers and a line of open ones, two bathroom stalls, and a bunch of lockers. It's overall fairly clean, but not monitored or squeegeed nearly as often as Blue Lagoon.

One of our favourite stops on our trip around Iceland. The outside pools were incredible - the size of a large swimming pool but naturally formed, surrounded by rocks and snow. Luxuriating in warm water while the air temperature was below freezing, watching the sun set through a cloud of geothermal mist, was a perfect way to end a day of exploring around Lake Myvatn.
We stayed in the baths for almost two hours, swimming around and soaking, before making the brief but cold dash back to the changing rooms. On leaving, we had a chat with one of the friendly staff members about the Aurora the night before.
Don't miss this place if you're in northern Iceland - it was magical.response / report this review -

Nice place to relax and enjoy a hot soak. It's very touristy though. The pool is a man made pool dug out in a lava field. Interesting experience.

I did not plan on coming here, not usually much a fan of commercial set ups like this. But I am really glad I did. The facility and locker rooms were clean, private showers, and of course provided lockers for your gear. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the pool, which was the perfect temperature, with some friends I met along the way. If you are in the area, it is well worth the price of admission.
