Natural geysers, fascinating to watch and learn about. Some signs they have failed to translate into English though. Good stopover to make on the way to or from Blue Lagoon.

one of the many amazing places to visit while in the south of iceland. this is a geological wonder. the boiling mud bubbling away. the colours in the rocks are a photographers dream. the acrid smell is a little overpowering if the winds blowing at you. and the views are fantastic if you walk up the hill.

Thermal muddy pool that emits a strong sulfuric steam. Uncomfortable odour emits from the ground. If you are sensitive to smell this might not be a good place for you to visit.

We visitied this geothermal place during a road trip on this part of the island. It's cool to see and it's set so you can visit it safely. IF you decide to do a trip around this area, I'd suggest to stop here and visit it.

Didn't see much because we were there during a snowstorm. The 42 looked like a fun road to drive but we only saw 1m infront of our car.

This area reminded us of Yellowstone and Hawaii. We were on a tour bus w a great guide. It was cold but not intolerable. We went between Christmas and New Years.

Cool lake located about 40 min drive from the Blue Lagoon. In winter the frozen water along the edge makes an awesome sound as the waves come in.

Not quite as impressive as the mud pools in the north, but still a great place to see, especially since the road there goes through beautiful views. Good wooden stairs have been built there. Large parkinglot. Toilet is not available during winter time or when it is below zero degrees celcius.

I think is the first hot spring you can find on the way to Reykjavík. Really nice and with the sign that explains you how does it "work". Nice spot

This was our very first stop in Iceland, right after renting a car from the airport. It's not far from the airport, sort of on the way to Reykjavik, and a breathtaking introduction to the magic of Iceland! Highly recommend walking to the top of the hill for an amazing view.

Pleasantly surprised, just watching the mud and steam and water boiling out of the ground was amazing. Paths and walkways were well marked and brings you right up close to the points of interest. Working bathrooms, parking is close, not real crowded. Highly recommend.

Plenty of free parking, toilets and a soup van when we were there. There's a raised wooden path for easy access around most of the hot springs. For the more adventurers there's a very steep, tricky path to some higher areas with great views.

10/10 would recommend. This was my favourite site on our trip. Not too many people when we went. There are hot springs and boiling pools of water everywhere. You can spend just 20min and be satisfied, but bring your hiking shoes and you'll get so . There's a bathroom at the parking lot.

Beautiful geothermal place to visit, the walking path is well marked. Plenty of parking available, occasionally tour groups visit. The drive to this place is a scenic route, with short distance of gravel road. Worth visit.

Beautiful place to visit for about 30', the colors of the rocks and soil are undescribable, fascinating! Very easily accessible wooden path that goes around the area, right next to the parking lot.

Great stop if you have extra time to veer in a different direction from all of the other main attractions. The drive has very nice views along the way, like: a lake, mountain ranges and black sand shores The site itself has a nice hiking path and your stay can be a quick 15 min or as long as a couple of hours easy to get there from Reykjavik.

Beautiful otherworldly location, the landscape is something else. Tainted by the sulfur there are intense oranges, whites and auburn colors make this a really beautiful photography location. Just be prepared to put up with a strong sulfur smell!

Power of nature! Nothing much there than foul smelling sulphur gases and bubbling water / mud. It's a long way to go unless you are passing by. No toilet facility either. Surrounding landscape is rugged and nice to see.

Beautiful drive through the hills and along the cost to arrive here, especially worth a visit en route to the Blue Lagoon from Reykjavik
