Staying at Hotel Berg and was recommended this place. I have seen reviews about how AVERAGE this place is and overall I would have to agree. We had the blonde waitress and after some joking around she really warmed up and was quite friendly. Food was average with the shrimp being very fishy tasting but the salmon good. Prices are high but what isn’t in Iceland.

lots of average in this place. for example, the soup was outstanding, but the main meal was less than great, so it averaged out. same with the servers: the short-haired blonde was attentive and friendly, while the shoulder-length brunette was pushy and not-so-kind. again, averaged out. a little higher than average pricing, but slightly larger portions. so again, average. like i said, whole lotta average.

We had gone to Kaffi duus after reading reviews on Google. We were on our last day of trip and we were looking out for a restaurant that served Indian food. When we had chanced upon this place, we were glad we found something near to the airport. But our experience was pretty sour.
The place was almost empty except for 2 tables. There was nobody minding the tables nor anybody at the bar. After waiting for quite a while a lady came out and we asked her for the menu. Either she didn't speak English properly or she was extremely rude. We wanted to know what Indian dish was on the menu for lunch and she took quite some time before answering that there weren't any for lunch. When asked what else was available, she just bluntly pointed at the menu and asked us to see for ourselves. We somehow managed to order what we wanted. The food took a while before it was served. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. We just managed to eat it because we were hungry and left the place quickly.
If you are looking for lunch, there aren't that many options. I wouldn't bother myself to go there again.

Have been here several times for both dinner and lunch. Good food and wonderful views. Service at times can be a bit off. But a smile and a kind word or two will take you far. Well worth a visit!

Stayed at Hotel Berg during a long layover back to Frankfurt from San Francisco, and I was directed to this restaurant as the closest to get some grub.

It was a quick walk and a cute looking Icelandic restaurant promoting its seafood. I ordered the Soup of the day which came with three slices of bread and a seafood salad. I became suddenly nauseous after eating the salad but I thought it could just be from the instant change of weather, as it was very cold in Iceland compared to the California sun and Frankfurt's clear day. My salad arrived and after two bites I couldn't take anymore. I asked for it to go. The waitress was very kind and genuinely concerned and wished me well.

I went back to my hotel and vomited more times than I could keep up with. I vomited the soup everywhere. I really wanted to like this place but my stomach said no way.

This was disappointing. Their web site paints a vivid picture of wonderful food. The food — a fish curry and a soup — was quite edible, but with none of the zest and sparkle suggested by the web sit. I hope we caught them on a bad day. The place is conveniently close to KEF airport, in reach by bus if you have a few hours of stopover.

We were told to go here by a local in Reykjavik and it was worth it! I think even for Icelandic prices, the price was a little too high for what we got, but it was delicious. Fish and Chips + Sailer's Plate. I would definitely go back there again.

Tried whale for the first time. It was well prepared and I would definitely order it again. The lamb chops were a bit salty but good flavor. Bearnaise sauce and rhubarb preserve went well with them. They were out of the porter so I got the pale ale which was good. My mom got the seafood bowl and said it was disappointing with a lot of broth and not much seafood. The wait staff was not too friendly.

This place is a hidden gem! Definitely check out their lunch buffet with delicious seafood soup. Clean dining area. Good price. One of the best meals that we had during our 7 days in Iceland. Descent view of the ocean and distant mountains too. Large banquet hall for big parties.

We started with the seafood platter for 2, simply delicious, lobster, prawns, scallops, oysters, mussels and broth. Divine.
The main course of 6 (yes 6) lobster tails each, was a treat I will never forget.
All cooked to perfection.
Great friendly service, nice view too.

Three different scam attempts. The woman at the bar was sour faced in the extreme. First I was told I couldnt have soup because there was no bread (later I saw a big pile of it in a basket) and I was quoted a ridiculous price for soup with no bread. Next she tried to charge me for a drink for my son, despite it being part of the set meal I had ordered. When my order was rung up on the till, I was baffled as to why my card wouldn't swipe. I checked the console and found I had been charged double, a considerable amount of money. When I queried this, she changed it, but on calculating what the bill should be, I found it was still more than I expected. On looking at the menu, I found I had been charged double for one item. Worse of all there was no attempt at apology for this litany of "errors" and I was made to feel I was being a nuisance for objecting to being ripped off! Was going to visit their museum but changed my mind.

Best salmon steak I've had. Usually I only get salmon fillets when eating out, bit I rolled the dice. The salmon steaks were fresh and had no bones. The wait staff looked like they were stressed out, but the service was good. My wife had white fish. She liked it as well.

We had a very good meal here. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. The staff was friendly.
We had the seafood sampler appetizer which was good. The coconut shrimp were good. The steamed shrimp and scallops were ok. The steamed mussels were good. The real star of this dish were the lobster tails, which were great.
We had the seafood pasta which was good. We also had the lamb dish which was very good. The vegetables and potato were good.
Overall we enjoyed our meal, but would note that it was pricey even considering Iceland prices. We would consider coming here again.

Very friendly staff and a nice location providing a good atmosphere and view of the ocean and mountains. Food itself was decent but not great for a restaurant right on the water. Average seafood at best and very spendy.

Hearty portions.
Food tasted excellent.
I can't say any more.

I had a fish pasta, the pasta was in a cheese sauce and there was various fish on top of it. Prawns scallops and such.

The location is by the harbour so it's pretty much the only place to eat.

The staff were not so warm I found on this visit.

Full service restaurants are hard to find in Iceland. This one does an adequate job, though the prices are still a shock to anyone from the United States. An odd mix of seafood and Indian food. The view of the bay is lovely. If you have to wait, go visit the old shipping vessel that is dry-docked.

Really yummy meal. Probably the best we had in Iceland. We had the lobster as a starter and the lamb and the whale as mains and all were decent sizes and very nice. Has a large selection of choices as well.

Read a couple of reviews that stated the food was a great deal vs other places. The restaurant was nice inside and the service was very good. The food was good but not for the price. Rates were similar to all other places in Iceland (Pricey). 2 pasta dishes, 1 wine and a desert was 8000. The servings were good sized and were tasty enough but nothing to write home about. Maybe the other reviewers were referring to a lunch buffet price? We were there for dinner so no buffet prices for us. Still, nice place, good service, good food. Typical prices.
