Stayed here for our holiday before Christmas, we got the hotel for a cracking price, it was right on the main street readily accessible for everything. Staff were friendly and polite. Room was a good size and clean, it was basic but had a small kitchenette, fridge and comfy bed, everything you need for a base for exploring, would visit again

Our hotel of choice for our short stay visit hoping to see the northern lights (we didn't). Hotel Fron conveniently situated on the main street. Room spacious and warm. Bathroom clean. Beds clean and comfortable Very convenient, would recommend. Staff pleasant and knowledgeable. Get down early for breakfast to get best choice and a seat. Nightmare toasters that fuse the lights! They need to invest in a rollaround toaster for efficiency and to speed up the wait for your two toast that takes forever.

Good hotel, in a great location, not too expensive with nice rooms. The staff were very kind and helpful. We had a room with a kitchenette which helped make eating in Iceland more affordable! The breakfast was hearty and set us up well for the day. Very near one of the tourist bus stops which you can take for the tours and trips out of Reykjavik.

Great little hotel, right in the centre of Reykjavik. Perfect access to all attractions, bars and restaurants. Only downside is the breakfast was very repetitive by day 5, and the queue for the toasters became a pain. Plenty of lovely local places for breakfast however.

Good location for restaurants and bars. Close to most parts of Reykjavik. We had a studio apartment which was really nice. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good but a bit chaotic. Good value for money and would stay there again.

Great location on the main shopping street of Reykjavik. Only a 1 minute walk from a convenient bus stop for tour and airport pick up and drop offs. Good sized room with a small kitchen. Good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was included but there were no hot items which was the only thing I disliked.

Such a nice place! Rare that a place is higher than your expectations. It's a tiny bit on the higher side, but By one that knows Iceland knows pretty much everything is. The lobby is great, it's on the main strip in Reykjavik - walking distance to most city attractions. If you're renting a car it will be really hard to park on the main street so will have to park on a side street or a lot. I parked across the street from Harpa, about a 5 minute walk yo the hotel. Rooms are very clean and modern, so nice that I decided to skip free breakfast to stay in it a bit longer :)

Location is brilliant, rooms fairly basic but comfortable. Breakfast is in the adjoining Scandinavia Restaurant - continental breakfast. They also have a small amount of parking if you have a hire car too - but recommend you make contact and reserve a space in advance.

Staff at hotel were super helpful and friendly. Location was great. Our double room was super small, even by European standards. Outlets were scarce. There was not even hand washing soap provided in the bathroom. The shower was amazing when the temperature regulations worked, which was intermittent. Breakfast was solidly nutritious but not exceptionally tasty. The coffee was just not good. In general an ok budget hotel.

Good location in the centre of reykjavic. Close to all main sites. Breakfast is a continental set up with lovely fresh fruit. Our room did have some mold making it smell a bit stale when returning in the evening but was rather large and beds very comfy.

Ideally situated in central Reykjavik, on a main shopping street, the Hotel Fron was a pleasure to stay at. Our room, #402 on the top floor, faced the street, which was noisy one of the nights with the window open (to cool off the room), but with the window closed it was quiet. There are also rooms that face in to a courtyard - these are probably quieter.

The room was spacious and well laid out, despite it being tucked in a corner and under a sloping roof. There was a mini-refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, dishes and utensils, though we did not use any of those.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was pretty good, though the traffic flow around the various offerings could be tricky to navigate at busier times.

The only thing that bothered me during the stay was that the maintenance could be better. In the bathroom, the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, some ceiling tiles looked as if they were about to fall, and on one morning I turned on the bathroom light only to have all the room power shut off. I located the breaker in a hallway closet and reset it, and notified the desk staff of the now burned-out light. (Also about the toilet paper holder.) Despite these, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent location, but you will have difficulty to find parking, so if you need an on-site parking, reservation and a fee will be charged. When we were there, the staff is always overwhelmed with guests (she was alone) and it was merely during shoulder season. Though lack of smile, but she kept it together and check us in/out very fast, and address our queries promptly. The room is huge, clean and comfortable, although our room don't have a window. The free breakfast is a plus.

Huge studio apartment, well equipped kitchen, very nice breakfast buffet. The location was great and close to many restaurants, stores, and grocery markets. We had a balcony on the main street, which we heard could get quite noisy on weekends, but we did not experience that.

We stayed in an apartment suite and it was awesome! Very comfortable stay. The only thing I didn't like was the pull out couch bed, was probably the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on! However despite that, the hotel was in the perfect location in the center of Reykjavik. If you have a vehicle, I recommend emailing ahead to request parking otherwise you'll have to park your car pretty far away on the street. The staff wasn't the most friendly, but she was quick getting us checked in. The restaurant attached was a good place for dinner too. Definitely stay here if you want a central location.

Although the location is great enough, this is probably the worst hotel I've stayed at ever. Makes "Faulty Towers" appear like a dream.. Do watch out when checking in! We had payed in advance for a double room for almost 2 weeks but were given a single room instead. Getting that sorted out was not an easy task. The rooms facing the street are quite noisy with all the pubs and bars, be aware that the "party" goes on until 4 in the morning. The rooms facing the other side on the other hand look straight into a wall through dirty windows, if not placed on the ground floor.. I don't understand how so many reviews talk of "a friendly staff". In my experience the staff was quite unfriendly and spoke harshly and rude with the hotel guests. They didn't even look up to greet passers by with a simple "Good Morning", even though the reception was placed facing the elevator and staircase. (The cleaning staff was alright, at least they smiled.) The breakfast was quite simple judging by European standard. The staff pushed and shoved when serving bread etc. in the ill-planned food line. Bread first, then plate, the other things like cheese after that and then toasters last.. People ran to and fro in that narrow space like chicken. Lots of guests thought that was a bit odd. Needless to say, I would never stay here at this unfriendly hotel again.

Friendly reception staff. Very helpful and I was able to upgrade to an apartment prior to arrival. The room was basic but adequate facilities. Convenient location for exploring the city centre. I would stay at this hotel again.

Attentive and friendly staff, rooms are perfectly sufficient in terms of size and facilities. A good selection each morning for the breakfast buffet. Very central location, although no significant issues with noise when I was here (October)

Great hotel in an excellent location! Lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby. Would recommend Bravo for drinks and The Lebowski Bar for food! Both are less than one minute from the hotel.

The free breakfast is pretty standard but was more than enough! Nice cereals, breads, teas, coffees, meats, cheeses, fruits etc. The staff were excellent, they always made sure things were topped up and the place was immaculate.

Room was immaculate and had everything you could need. My only criticism would be that it would have been nice to have tea/coffee in the rooms after those cold days!

We stayed there many years ago. Perfectly located in Reykjavik. Outstanding service organizing excursions on short notice. Always friendly. Rooms are immaculate. . I look forward to our next Icelandic adventure staying at Hotel Fron once again.
