The lobby, bar, bistro and lounge areas are wonderful. But the rooms, kitchens, bathrooms are yucky. At least four outlets in the 12 bed room didn't work. At least two of the bed lamps didn't work. The kitchen was a dirty disaster from people being pigs and not cleaning up properly. There were fabric seat cushions in the kitchen that we're practically black with stains and grime. There was a two person shower with dingy curtains to separate yourself. The toilet room has about four small stalls and the door to the room can hardly be opened if anyone is inside. There are drawers under the beds for your luggage, and they all seemed to have garbage or gunk in them.

The desk staff were wonderfully friendly and the lobby/lounge areas around the desk were clean and comfortable. Beer and wine at the bar were good and the bistro area has maybe a dozen tables for restaurant food service.

The staff were incredibly kind helpful, I arrived 8 hrs too early for check in and they let me stay in the socializing room while I waited for a bed and allowed me to store my things if I had wanted to leave. The entire place is clean and it’s got a great community feel with pretty good social vibes. Was able to connect with people and get groups to travel with and go out with. The bar is nice but not cheap, I recommend buying alcohol in the airport or liquor stores!

An amazing place to stay for are grip to Iceland. Good be quility and nice rooms which all much bigger then expected. The ground floor social area and shared kitchens allow for conversation between groups. A great place for food down stairs and good breakfast. This only problem is the few drunk users and the occasional broken bed light. Would come again.

First off—I had a very hard time finding the entrance. There is not much signage to direct you to the reception. Also upon entering the building I wasn’t even sure if it was the correct hostel.
The rooms—nothing special. I had one bed in a four bedroom dorm. Large open area. Small windows with limited airflow. Hot room. Semi comfortable beds. The rooms and floors in the rooms could be cleaned a little more often.
The kitchen is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. I would not want to eat off of any of the silverware or plates. There is food everywhere, most of it probably expired. very smelly.
Bathrooms were dirty and cramped. The soap to wash your hands.
I didn’t use showers but if they were anything like the bathroom m, I wouldn’t of used them anyways.
It’s a perfect location to bus pick up if that’s what you need. Location is good for restaurants, grocery stores and souvenir shops.
Front desk staff was nice and very helpful.
However, I would not sleep here again. You pay for what you get.

The place is good if you want a hostel that isn't full of party youth. However the place desperately needs to be fix up. Our door knob was wobblely. My bed was broken so I slept in a slop. Plus more. But I liked the Icelandic dinner and the breakfast buffet was good. The kitchen has the basics, and the beds were comfy. Location is amazing. Shuttle pick up is outside and the staff are amazing. Overall I would recommend it.

Nice hostel, ideally located in the center of Reykjavik with a bus stop for tours not a meter from the front door, and a museum and supermarket directly across the street. Spacious, clean rooms; and luxurious showers. Nice common room with a few board games, and polite and helpful staff.

Not the cleanest hostel. Several aspects of the hostel does not receive enough attention from staff. Third floor hostel rooms were generally clean, however the washrooms were not properly stocked with toilet paper. No toilet paper was available in the third floor washrooms for two nights. Our kitchen garbage bins were also overfilled for two days until a guest took the garbage out herself.

The location of the hostel is great though as it is by the tourist bus stop as well as the city's main bus terminal.

Great location for a meal or drinks. We ate the chicken enchiladas and they were extremely good! They came with nachos too which was an added bonus. Certainly not shy on their filling as it was stuffed to the brim. Lots of choice here with various type of cuisine so something for everyone. They even have a dessert place serving liquid nitrogen ice cream!

I enjoyed my 8 night stay here. You cannot ask for a better location - close to all major attractions and RIGHT beside the city buses. Shopping and restaurants were right at the doorstep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I found all the rooms and facilities were clean. I only gave it four stars because on the last day there was NO toilet paper in the bathrooms the whole day!! But that’s a first world problem if there ever was one. Overall, I recommend this hostel to anyone coming to Reykjavík.

We went to Hlemmur Square every day as this is where the bus terminal was and we were glad we did as the new food hall is great. We had dinner there one day which was a great burger and breakfast the next (croissant and coffee). Highly recommend

Fantastic location, right in the centre of Reykjavik. We rented a car and overnight parking is just outside the hotel on the road (although pay and display between 8am and 6pm). The room is spacious and the bed comfortable. Haven't tried the restaurant yet, but the menu does look really good. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, going out of their way to help us enjoy our stay in Iceland and get the best out of our trip. The blue lagoon is only a 30 minute drive, the airport is only 45 and the Golden Circle is not far away. Despite all of these great features, the price is very low. We stayed in the hotel rooms (there is also hostel accommodation available) and the price was very reasonable. Just beware of the local food and drink prices though, it's an expensive place to visit.

Reception is always helpful. Perfect place to stay Central. Everything is mostly walking distance and great vibe of people. Loads of free food. I stayed in all female form and the view from the huge windows were amazing!

Really cool hostel located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. It's got a restaurant and a bar located in the lobby area and there's always people milling about and meeting and talking to each other. They also let you check your luggage if you arrive early in the morning from the airport (like most American travelers I imagine) so you don't have to carry around your luggage all morning and afternoon while you're exploring the city because the check in time is 3pm.

Location was perfect! Staff were very helpful and sincere making a great visit. Excellent craft beer bar in lobby with daily happy hour. We stayed on 5th floor hotel area. Comfortable accommodations - it is not a full service hotel so no coffee in regular rooms although coffee daily in lobby. Minibar/fridge, down comforters & pillows. Terrace was nice to enjoy morning coffee and evening drinks. Very easy walking into downtown. Good value and great place to stay.

Nice place. Bed is big and comfortable, but a little bit high of the second bunk beds. Each floor has a kitchen. However, cooking staffs are not complete. There's a restaurant at first floor. You can try some local food. They even offer one free beer if you order sth

Generous portion of gorgeous salmon steak, freshly caught, charbroiled to perfection and then served on a bed of savoury mashed potatoes surrounded by a crisp locally grown salad. Paired with a complimentary pint of Icelandic beer: perfect way to end a day on the Golden Circle Tour! I'll definitely be back to this hotel/hostel

It was a fine hostel. The thing with Iceland is that it doesn't really get dark in the summer, so the light made it hard to sleep. The doors didn't lock perfectly either which was annoying. Overall, good hostel with good public areas to hang out in. They have breakfast downstairs, but you'll get more bang for your buck at one of the restaurants near by. Free beer if you buy a meal for dinner, though, and each day they do an Icelandic meal at 6 pm. Check in is at 3 pm, so prepare to wait if you're coming in with jetlag.

Super cool hotel/hostel combo. We stayed in a nice spacious room with a mini kitchenette and it was awesome. Wifi worked well, windows opened over the street below. Once a week they do their Square Meal. We were lucky enough to be there for Icelandic lamb. And it was the cheapest and tastiest meal we could have imagined. Oh and the hotel is on one edge of downtown which makes it perfect to walk through the whole downtown and back.

Good service and the dorm rooms are fine. Location good and booking was easy and worked werll. The Kitchens are the usual dorm standard, fine for a few travellers but not good for large groups. We had a few issues with group of young students who travelled without any teachers supervising them, making the Hostel into a insane asyluim at night.

Really like this hotel/hostel. We stayed at the hostel part and it has good facilities and common rooms. The dormitories are spaces and heating is good. Staffs are knowledgeable and friendly too. Highly recommend.

Stayed at this hotel+hostel combination mid-March 2017, and we definitely enjoyed our stay. We were in the hotel on the 5th floor - newly and tastefully renovated! The best part is that there is a 24-7 mini-market directly in front of the hotel, which comes in handy considering such places are few and far in between in Iceland. Four stars only because we waited 15 minutes to check-in since the front desk agent wasn't there. I would recommend a bell or something be placed there, not fun waiting to check-in after driving quite a bit!

My first hostel and the best hostel ever. The way is built makes you meet new people. The dinner meal is the best deal ever. The staff is the best, and the location is perfect. I have tried other hostels, but this one is still the best.
