The staff is helpful and extremely friendly. Cottages are cozy, with comfortable beds, a fridge and a cooking stove. We had a very pleasant stay on our trip along the ring road. Highly recommend! :)

Nice cabin, but the shower had some issues. The floor sloped away from the drain, and there is the tiniest bump to hold the water in, which probably works well if the floor pitched correctly, so the bathroom literally flooded. Other than that, dinner and breakfast were great!

Nice comfortable clean hotel in a rustic and beautiful location in southern Iceland. The price is decent for Iceland. It comes with a good breakfast. I would recommend if you are in the area.

A great welcome after a day of sightseeing and driving. The surrounding area is beautiful and the hotel inviting. We got dinner at the restaurant and the lamb was delicious. Breakfast in the morning was great, as well, with fresh bread and croissants, juice, eggs, and meats and cheeses. Shower was great. Iris at reception gave us lots of help on things to see. Overall great stay!

Ideal spot for admiring the northern lights, as it's set away from surrounding lights and buildings, so even from ground level (and it's all only ground level) you can see all around. It's only some minutes drive to the main ring road. The staff are honest and helpful. They suggest the safest roads and warn you about closed off areas, saving you time and hassle. Everything was clean and fine. Not luxurious, but then again, that's not the nordic way maybe, and anyways the food is good and it's great value.

A beautiful location just outside of town. They have a delicious dinner menu ($15-50/1500kr-5000), a diverse liquor selection, a delicious breakfast, wonderful staff, perfect sized rooms, and we saw green and pink northern lights right outside of our rooms. I highly recommend this as the first stop on the southern coast from Reykjavík.

One star off is for the portion of food served for dinner. 4600isk for one piece of pork and a few potatoes. I had to boil fastnoodle after dinner 😄

We arrived at Hotel Geirland feeling a little down from a difficult stay in a Hotel in Reykjavik. Are mood was immediately lifted by the lovely Receptionist who made us feel that we were very welcome. The position of the hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, and we loved the room it was perfect for our needs, we asked for a table for an evening meal and was looked after by fantastic staff who made us feel special. We used the great location to explore a fantastic part of Iceland. The only bad point is we weren't staying longer. Thanks to all at Hotel Geirland you made our stay with you perfect.

Beautiful view of the mountain and horses, reasonably priced food compared to other places. We did not lodge here though. Great staff and white wine pasta. Other plates were beautifully put together too.

This hotel is in a beautiful location! The mountain views are in one direction and the fields are in the other. It is a great place to stop on the way to the east side of the country. It was such a comfortable place to stay. The breakfast was large and amazing! A great selection of familiar foods as well as local foods that we could try. There was a kettle in the room and we opted for a room without a TV which made for such a relaxing stay. In the evening we relaxed in the common area and got local beers from their bar. It was a very enjoyable stay.

Very lovely staff. Beautiful views of the cliff side and Icelandic horses right outside your window. Free morning breakfast buffet and wifi. Perfect stop for the night, pleasantly surprised.

Very nice place just off the main road surrounded by beautiful mountains. Able to see the northern lights from the parking lot.
The staff were great. They even managed to make us some sandwiches after everything in town was closed down for the night, including their kitchen.response / report this review -
