Location very nice with great views. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of cheese choices and the cafe bar to start the morning. Husband enjoyed the eggs, bacon, and cold meat choices.

Our room was upgraded, comfortable with a gorgeous balcony and view. Loved the remote location of this hotel. Perfect for viewing the northern lights which we saw from our balcony and their rooftop deck. Favourite spot we stayed in this trip and didn't break the bank. The breakfast had good variety too and generally nice cozy ambience at the hotel.

A little off the beaten path, but worth the trip. The food was amazing and the cost reasonable (for Iceland). We had our New Year's Eve meal here. The chefs were very passionate about the food.

This upscale hotel is perfectly situated along the south coast, just 10 minutes off Ring Road. The breakfast is incredibl with a huge variety of great quality food. The dinner menu is expensive, however the food is of the highest quality. The hotel will do the Northern Lights wakeup call. Absolutely would stay here again.

Had a room with a double bed, room was small but clean. Bathroom was okay, could use some improvements. Best part of the hotel was the fact that it was located in a secluded area away from the rest of the city which made the Northern Lights a delight to see! And the breakfast in the morning was good as well

This is impressive hotel, friendly and professional staff in the reception as well as in very good restaurant. Food is nicely served and there is beautiful view from the restaurant. What is also looking well is the bar next to restaurant. Rooms are large, simple by design, but luxurious. What impressed me is the roof deck, from where you can observe the northern lights.

The staff were good. The room was somewhat clean although I found 3 or 4 different colored hairs on the bed spread. the room was also dated and the walls were quite thin. We paid around $350 for one night. The hotel looks like there's two sections a new one and an older one We got a room in the older one. For your money you can get a much better room at a better price at hotel jokul just a few cities away.

When we arrived we found our room assigned to the older wing that is undergoing renovation. The elevator did not work so I had to haul heavy suitcases up the stairs to the second floor. The room was small and barren. There was no closet, we had to hang clothes on a pipe from the ceiling. The bathroom was tiny with a cheap fiberglass shower that had seen better days. I stayed in motels that we're better than this. On the plus the hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was quite nice.

We liked Hotel Laki. We actually booked the first 4 days of our trip around the availability of the room we found here and we weren't disappointed. Though the price tag was definitely high we loved the included breakfast buffet, the shower was nice, the beds were very comfortable, the covers were the softest we'd experienced in Iceland and while it wasn't the best blackout curtain, it was pretty good. I agree with some of the other reviews that the bathrooms could use some updating and the walls were a bit thin. The staff were very friendly and everything was very clean. It's just 4 km off the ring road. We'd recommend a stay here for sure.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Laki. The rooms were nice and clean. The hotel could use a bit of updating in places, but was clean and nicely decorated. There were a lot of people staying at the hotel the night we stayed, and our room was directly under the restaurant, however, we did not hear a lot of noise. The blackout curtains were very good.
We had dinner here, and it was wonderful! The lamb stew was so good that we even came back the next day for lunch to have it again. The arctic char was very good. The lemon tart was delicious.
One note about lunch is that it seems to be seasonal. When we came back for lunch, the front desk staff said they were serving, but the wait staff seemed confused about if they were serving lunch.

One of the best hotels we stayed in during Iceland travels at around this price (19,000K for a standard room incl. breakfast for two). Delicious breakfast complete with a small smoothie and fruits. Sweeping panoramic views of mountains. Shower water pressure weak at times.

Nice place. Stay away from the budget economy rooms though. They're only good for those of you that aren't at all fussy. Good breakfast and nice communal areas. Could do with some outside lighting.

A nice little family run hotel, staff is friendly and the food is good with icelandic food mainly. A great place to see the northern lights if there are clear slies as there is a roof area. Cleanliness of the rooms could be improved, when i moved some of the furniture, there are clear dusty areas below them.
