Last stop before the highlands. Everything here to keep you alive. Amazingly open year round.

Very good information center if you want to go into the highlands and have no clue what you're about to do. Regular prices at the bar/restaurant. Quality isn't fantastic but it's fine if you wanna have a quick meal

Staff were very helpful, meals were tasty but breakfast was overpriced, rooms were tiny and cramped for 100 euros. Prices from thier Little "store" water bottle 1000isk gauze bandages 1000isk prices were insane.

Only stay here if you have no other options. We stayed here because we wanted to go to Landmannalaugar the next day and this place literally was the only option unless you're ready to camp in freezing weather. The toilets are shared for like, 20 rooms. The rooms are less than jail sized- about 8x5 feet and they fit two beds in that space. Breakfast was not included with the room and they charged us about 20$ per person for cereal and terrible coffee. You've to take your shoes off at a common place before you even enter the lobby. The hot water stopped mid-shower. Mid-shower! The answer to that was, "oh yeah, it's heated in a tank, and it ran out. Try one of the other common showers in this other part of the building or you can wait 20 mins. Maybe."

The people, to be honest, were friendly and courteous. Overall the facilities were a disaster for the price you pay. I'd be willing to take all this if it were like 25€ a room but we paid 104€ and this is not what you'd expect. Oh, and not to mention the noise levels from just people walking in the corridor. Good luck sleeping.

We had a pleasant stay in a nice new room. On contrary to other users, I would say that the breakfast served was above average for Iclandic standards.

Small minus point: The menu in the restaurant only consisted of soups, burgers, and sandwiches. However, they told us, that they are offering a bigger a la carte menu in high season.

Plus points: This was the only accomodation on our trip with a sauna, which was nice to use after a relatively cold day hiking. They once forgot our order at the restaurant until we inquired, but apologized by giving us two beers on the house. A nice compensation for the long waiting time.

Outlets right above your head when you sleep, fell down multiple times. Below average breakfast. Rooms had a bad smell.

Service could be improved (they forgot our order). Otherwise the burgers are alright.

Minimist accommodations in a sparsely settled area of south-western highlands. Clean and correct.
