If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Best breakfast ive ever had. Lovely relaxed and cosy cafe and the staff are very accomodating. Great coffee too. Excellent.

The Grey Cat was great. I had The Truck minus the bacon. It was a huge amount of food, but everything was wonderful. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the eggs, toast and potatoes were perfect. The service was efficient and the decor and atmosphere was cozy and cool. I would definitely go back if I was in Reykjavik again.

The food was very good and the staff was nice. You’ll need a generous amount of time and money to eat here. Two egg & bacon bagels, one cappuccino, one hot chocolate, and one juice = $64 USD !!

Definitely a great bang for your buck. My fiancé and I came here for breakfast after settling into our B&B. We knew food prices can be steep in Iceland, but the Grey Cat was worth every króna. The delicious breakfasts we ordered fuelled us for our adventures that day.

Great find. Cozy decor and intimate surroundings. I had the hummus bagel which was fresh, tasty and very filling. Our meal (pictured) came to 6500ISK about £48. It was expensive for what it was but hey this is iceland. Oh, and the Swiss mocha was delicious.

Small, cozy, long established classic, great for sandwiches, bagles, eggs & bacon, pancakes and the like. Not cheap but worth it. "Cuban sandwich" (pictured) is a favourite.

A very cozy local spot for a fresh brunch and filled with books. This place attracts a trendy crowd. They will do their best to accommodate requests and I appreciate their decor as well.

Hip coffee shop that serves over priced breakfast. The cashier/server wasn't very interested in doing his job. I'd skip this place and find an actual diner if you want food.

Very big portions and the food was really good. The pancakes had a great flavor and the eggs and potatoes were good as well. The syrup is really good, but for anyone needing sugar free syrup, they don't offer it.

Bacon & syrup on three pancakes definitely go together!!! Great breakfast in a cozy space! The name on the front is written in Icelandic but you won't miss the cat in the logo!

Big portions to standard icelandig prices. Like "The truck" menu cost 3000 ISK, with potatoes, sauce, sirup, three big pancakes, toast with butter, bacon and eggs. Worth the money! Place is rather small and cozy, but can still fit some groups if you don't mind sitting close :)

I'm with those who say it's expensive and nothing special. Had the bagel with smoked salmon. No extras like capers or lettuce. The guy beside me ordered the same thing but his came with lettuce on the side. Strange. Watery coffee too. The bill for a smoked salmon bagel + coffee was 2800 ISK. Yikes! You're far better off at Dunkin around the corner, although you won't get the quirky, cosy atmosphere.

A quaint little 7 table diner has amazing breakfast options and a very homey feel. Sitting by the window allows you to see the cars and pedestrians pass by, as you enjoy some of the best coffee, hot chocolate, eggs, or pancakes you can. They are very generous with their portions, and the quality is superb.

The food portions were huge! If you want the American pancakes just get small size unless you're really hungry (the picture is of the large size). It's a cute cafe, but the tourist book made it out to be a must see in Iceland, however I would say this restaurant more caters towards tourists looking for familiar breakfast food.

The food is good enough and quite clean in taste, and the the place itself is all sorts of charming. A breakfast meal (eggs and bacon, with potatoes, tomato paste, and toast on the side) runs 2.200 krona.

Tables can get a bit cramped, especially near the entrance. The whole place is a bit small, to be honest, but if you're here with a friend or two that works very well.

Tea here is served as a hot kettle with leaves in a strainer for you to pour over.

Cute atmosphere and excellent coffee. The milk, bread, and butter were all high quality.

I had the eggs and bacon with a double cappuccino for about 2500 krona (pricey - yikes!) and I'd say it was yummy, but not $22 yummy. It's just American diner food, and opens early enough for those of us coming in at 4/5am. I walked here from the bus terminal (flybus) and noticed that this was one of maybe three places open at 8am. It's the only one I saw with warm food instead of pastries

Anyway, if you're awake early, it's a good spot. If not, try somewhere else with local food or a cheaper menu.

Small and intimate place, great for breakfast/brunch (eggs, bacon, pancakes, bagels, etc.). Grab a book from the shelves while you wait for your coffee. An old local favourite (especially artists), but quite pricey now that it has become popular with tourists.
