Classy, laid back, and perfect for friends of any kind to see something more challenging or interesting than your summer blockbusters offer. Then a comfy café for discussion afterwards. They offer movies from Iceland, other European countries, and the more artistic films from America. A majority of these have English subtitles so that is nice for travelers.
Excellent place to watch a movie in a cozy place downtown in Reykjavik.Hope will not be distroyed and appear a restaurant or hotel because of tourists !
Beautiful cinema in Reyk. If you don't speak/read/understand any other languages than English, be sure that the non-English movie you are sitting in for offers English subtitles. The cinema is in the heart of the city and easy to locate.
Great atmosphere, films you won't see anywhere else.
Always a great selection of authors movies, subtitles. Movie from Iceland and abroad. Nice to have a drink afterward. Super cool
Place!
Good not mainstreem movies and sometimes live music
Fairly certain this is the only art house / indie cinema in Iceland. Great place that shows indie films and foreign films. There are often special screenings of old cult films, check out their Facebook page for events. Serves beer & nice popcorn. Make sure to go to the back area (where theater 2 & 3 are located) to check out custom poster designs for various classic films, also a nice place to hang and grab a beer before the movie starts.
You walk in a warm & cosy place with old sofa's, movie posters on the wall and the smell of popcorn. They have a selection of the finer Islandic movies and the cute ciname rooms are nostalgic to times before big cinema chains with only braindead options
It's a good place to see independent films and classics!
Nice seats and you can see the movie very good because of the position of the seats, and also you have in the entrance some shop to buy sweet stuff, pop corn, they give you free water if you ask for, and there is some tables, good if you arrive too early before the movie start. Also is right in downtown, good location.
Great spot off the main drag to catch an foreign film or an Indy American flic with beer & fresh popcorn! Lots of locals frequent this place, they have a spacious lounge with a bar, happy hour is 5-7pm
Great place to see old movies, they often put on classics from the 80s and 90s.
Fantastic vibes for an independent cinema. You can expect to find indie and the not-so-typical films here. Ticket prices are slightly higher than that of normal cinemas (a ticket costs an average USD 15). Also, if you don't speak/read/understand any other languages than English, be sure that the non-English movie you are sitting in for offers English subtitles. The cinema is right in central and easy to locate. Great experience!
Nice theater that mostly screens indie and old movies. Overall experience and service is great but the theaters themselves and the toilets are poorly operated and cleaned.
Great independent cinema, with comfortable reclining seats. Most non English movies are subtitled. Worth a visit if in Reykjavic on a raining evening .
