The hotel is a tourist trap, and not a very good one at that. I complained that the shower water was a rust brown and nothing was done. When I went to check out they "undercharged" me at check in (they requires full payment at time of check in) and added more to my bill, but could care less that I was unable to use the shower.

I would highly recommend you stay AWAY from this hotel.

In short: horribly rude concierge desk; unhelpful,
WiFi slow as dial-up, room small decrepit smelly,
breakfast not good very greasy,
Horrible service, view not too good, but near the promenade.

Called for help, instructions, to make an international call from the room.
Answered with a reply it's too expensive.
When asked again, they said they're too busy, and went on a psychotic rant, then rudely hang up on me.
It was near Midnight and no help was given.

Wi-Fi is so slow that barely works for email.
Forget about voice over IP calling or anything else that demands a little bit of bandwidth speed.

Rooms too small and decrepit, old and smelly.

Plumbing is lacking. Standing water in the shower when walked into the room. Shower head was broke. Call the front desk to fix and after the 2nd day I fixed it mysel.

I don't know why they were given 4star hotel status.
Motels have better service and rooms. Star rating is exaggerated buy a long shot.

The only positive thing is that it is a short walk to the promenade.

I would give a 0 stars if it was possible.

Amazingly located a block from the beach. Rooms have a great view! Service is wonderful. Very nice people! They do there best to make you happy and the food is delicious and plentiful!the rooms are beautifully renovated and very clean! We had a great time!

Well, Israel is not the cheepest country in general.. But in 4* hotel I would expect the proper iron can be delivered to the room any time you need it. However, in Metropolitan there is a "ironing room" only. So if there are others that want to iron, you can find yourself in a queue.. the worst part however is that the iron provided resembles the toy and has very little in common with iron you can actually use to iron (and dont destroy) your shirts..

Too much noise in the room.
Recpetion was hostile.

Too much tours groups every day.
Overpriced for what you get.

The receptionists were unpleasant. The breakfast was terrible, always very crowded, sometimes it was imposible to take a coffe. The suites are big but they are old fashioned and the distribution is strange. The showers need a renovation. There is a lot of rotation so there's always a lot of people in the lobby and a lot of buses outside doing a lot of noise all the day.

We bid on a 4-star hotel on Hotwire and got booked here. In short, the hotel should not be given a 4 star rating it's not up to par, the location is really great and the views are fantastic but the rooms and the hotel are not the 4 star quality.

Due to the odd shape of the building, all the rooms are quite cramped, there is not a lot of space. The rooms are also very old despite the hotel saying they did a remodel a couple years ago. There were cracks in the walls, the A/C rattled in our room and the washrooms are old and dirty.

Breakfast is included, it's not bad a nice spread but you'll pay an arm and a leg for lunch and dinner which wasn't very good. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. They were nice to have around. And we were 2 blocks from the beach which was wonderful. Beware the beds are European so they are small and hard but we expected that so no complaints there.

Overall it's not worth the price and it's not the star rating it should be. Had we paid less and wanted a 3-star hotel, we would've been happier. But we were expecting a 4-star hotel and paid a fortune.

Overall rénovations required. Pool and surrounding installations need major update. Restaurant buffet breakfast and dinner, along with service and staff need big improvement if 4 star hotel is claimed. This is no more than a 3 stars hotel

Visited the Metropolitan conference area for the day. Pretty cozy, A/C was fine, quiet atmosphere, friendly staff. Good location for conferences.

Nice place. Family friendly. Last time I stayed people smoked in their room somewhere in hotel. Came in through vent into my baby's. Hotel staff were as helpful as possible, but it continued intermittently throughout stay. Not their fault, but disappointing.

Room was small, and yeah, technically we could see the Mediterranean between other buildings. Shower head was falling off the wall, So i fixed it. No AC, so had to leave the window open all night. Middle of the night, an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke permeated the room. Breakfast spread was pretty good.

It's good for the money, but that's about it. Good location and close to a beautiful beach. Rooms are small and plumbing is bad. I stood in 4 inches of water while taking a shower. The food is average.

I can honestly say that the shower at the Metropolitan Tel Aviv was one of the best showers of my life. It had a rainfall head, with a handle, awesome pressure, and perfect temperature. Bathroom and room were both perfectly clean, and the bed was comfy. Food in the hotel was also great and the location is just a 3 minute walk to the beach! Highly recommend.
