This hotel was OK. Rooms were clean enough bar a few marks on the carpet, dirty windows and it was a bit grubby around the bath. Bed was comfortable. Good location in the centre. We didn't have breakfast as preferred to head out into the city for more choice. The heating and the air con in our room did not work so it was quite cold. Only shower gel in the bathrooms. No nice extras.
My first time staying, and my last. I was driving and it is a difficult place to find and access. I chose to eat in the hotel, and the selection on the menu was poor, so I went for the tried and trusted fish and Chios with a side of onion rings. This was simply the worst such meal I have ever had. There was barely a hint of onion, the fish was more batter than fish, and the chips were soggy. While I ate the meal, my comments met with a reply of sorry about that, nothing else. There is no way would I eat there again, or use the bar other than for convince. I was then told at just after nine that I had to pay as the till was being closed off. On the positive side the room was fine and check in/out experience was good.
Nice place. It's a great location 2 blocks from public transportation. It is in a nice part of town
Myself and my friends were passing last night (02/10/17) and strolled in to this hotel for a drink.
We were treated with absolute disdain by the gentleman ( brown hair, slight build & glasses) who had to come from behind the reception to look after us in the bar.
It was obvious that he didn't want us there.
Everybody in my group was well dressed, polite and sober so I have no idea why he was so unfriendly!
After serving us a bad guinness in a lipstick smeared glass we decided to take our business to The Cobblestone across the road obviously the recession is over when staff resent having to take your money!!!
A super nice hotel . Clean friendly and nice rooms balcony very small but ok to stand put and look around.
It's a shame about the homeless peoples that sleep rough Hoping the police would move THEM on .
It's the only bad I can say xx
Staff unhelpful/condescending. Stayed 3 nights and each time breakfast was disappointing. Had to wait for key foods, consequently the rest went cold. Had to ask several times when more food would be brought out. Rooms weren't cleaned thoroughly, only top covers of beds straightened, coffee cups left dirty and not replaced. The decor was scuffed and tired. We paid good money for executive room with fab balcony BUT it certainly wasn't. I would have been happy there if it hadn't been bigged up and over priced. Great location though and would consider staying in one of the cheaper rooms another time. Just would expect more for the money, it was not on a par with other dublin hotels.
The rooms themselves are fairly decent but a few things to just know. First the rooms do not have opening windows that actually allow ventilation. I stayed 3 nights and woke up sweating insanely each night with no way to regulate the room temperature. Secondly the parking garage is completely serprate yet physically connected. It was a little confusing and desk staff didn't make that clear.
On the plus side it's a great location and there is a grocery store and great pubs right next to it.
Overall, nice size room, friendly staff, quiet area right next to grocery store and pubs. The doors are quite heavy and when people close them at night it is a little disturbing to your sleep. Also having to have a room key to use the elevator was a little annoying but overall a good safety measure. Happy with our stay and would stay there again. Surprised no little travel size goodies like hand lotion and hair conditioner. No biggie though. The front desk staff are very helpful for directions and whatever you need. They locked up our bags as we had a late flight the day of checkout. Nice.
The hotel was clean and in a quiet location. All of the staff were very friendly, they had an answer for every queirie and also gave us good recommendations on pubs, restaurants and things to do during our stay. The location of the hotel was great, only a couple of tram stops/bus stops away from the center of Dublin which was very convenient. Overall our stay at the maldron hotel was really good! Would come back here again.
The standard is very good, staff attentive, welcoming and helpful. Clean, warm and quiet room. The only downsaid was breakfast buffet (a bit off the hotel's standard, not very warm and not much variety). Great location, walking distance to centre and public transport. Nice stay, we recommend it
I stayed in room #600. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable.
Unfortunately the shower head in the bathroom was broken. Water came from the head but also from the pipe and was spraying across the ceiling and onto the floor. This was very irritating and a little dangerous as I tried to get out of the bath.
Nothing to criticise about this hotel. It was clean, the staff were friendly and reception kindly helped me with printing our boarding cards for return flight. Beds comfy, shower good. The location was fine - nice and quiet but close to city centre so we were able to walk nearly everywhere. Would recommend it to friends.
We didn't use the restaurant but the menu looked nice.
