The staff are lovely here, and we were made feel welcome for our event. The food provided was good for average hotel standards, and the room was quite spacious. The downstairs function room and toilets could do with a facelift, but other than that it was a hassle free day spent here.
My husband and I stayed at the O'Callaghan Davenport Hotel on the night of our five year anniversary. It was also the last night of our Holiday. We had made the reservation to include champagne and strawberries about a month or two in advance. Note that if you make a reservation with extras, you will want to confirm the extras a day or two in advance. We didn't do that so it wasn't waiting for us in the room, and we had to call for it to be delivered. Staying at the Davenport was still a nice capstone to a great vacation and celebration. Breakfast was delicious.
Very poor experience in the bar. Asked for red wine and received white. Was told soup of the day was vegetable and then received tomato soup. The soup itself was cold, tasted like vinegar and was clearly not fresh. I was unable to eat it. Advised the floor manager of this and was still asked to pay for it.
My mother also ate here and she enjoyed her main course.
Living off the location. Will not return.
This was our second time @ your hotel. We chose to return mainly for the location and staff. Being in a nearly perfect locality for access to Dublin's attractions we can't imagine a better home base for our stays.
With two fine pubs across the street and easy walking distance to central location without the constant flux of other tourists it's perfect. Its a five minute walk to Trinity, or any of the major museums. 10 minutes to Temple Bar or Central Post Office. The rooms are very clean, not opulent but more than satisfactory. Very comfortable beds and pillows. The baths could use an update but are clean and functional. The staff are great, always available with knowledge to make your trip easy and pleasant. A great location for any Dubllin visit.
Lovely , clean classic old hotel. This hotel has been updated and kept up extremely well. Our room was very large with a beautiful wood desk. The Staff was warm, friendly and very helpful with helping us navigate our first time Dublin. We will are planning our next time and this hotel will be our first stop.
Long overdue review. Stayed here in October 2015. It was a great hotel. Rooms were cosy and clean, a good size and the bathroom was in good nick. Reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast was generous and yummy. Very handy location - easy to walk to many things (shopping, parks, a lot of touristy things).
The hotel is in a great location. The room was nice and clean. The staff could use a little work. Front desk people were nice, the wait staff at breakfast was less than pleasant and the bar tender seemed put out that we came in for a night cap, an hour before closing.
It is a n older hotel, but again great location. Hop on, hop off bus is right outside the hotel and The Ginger Man and Kennedy's are across the street.
Classy hotel. Decent size room; not a suite but plenty big enough. Very nice bathroom. Staff we had interactions with were very professional. The Leap Bus from the airport drops you off practically at the front door. On one side of town, so there’s a bit of a walk to the night life area around Temple Bar. Seemed to be a variety of O’Callaghan properties in the neighborhood.
Large room amply supplied with chairs and table. Very large and comfortable bed.
Large bathroom with a very powerful shower.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating.
Great value for money.
Well done O'Callaghan
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and from the minute we walked in, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was stunning and much bigger than expected - very clean.
Hotel is perfectly located for exploring Dublin and everything it has to offer - also, the reception staff could not have been more helpful; changing money for us, booking taxis and offering us directions and information on attractions.
Would 110% recommend this hotel to anyone and if we return to Dublin, we will be going back here.
Well located for transport links, tourist attractions and easy walk to the centre of Dublin. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were generally pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style and offered continental and full breakfast options. Full breakfast menu would benefit with the option of vegetarian sausages and beans being included.
Dinner was good for most of our party but nonexistent for one who got hers after the rest of us were nearly finished. The waiting staff were very apologetic but getting the order right the first time would have been good.
Overall a good stay and would return again .
Everyone else was so nice at the hotel, the everyone at the front desk, restaurant, breakfast staff and the cleaning crew. We loved the hotel!!! It was a flawless stay!
Beautiful spacious rooms, very clean. very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal location. Right in the heart of the city. We loved our stay. Two nights wasn't long enough though. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.
