Pretty good stay overall! Be aware that it’s a hostel and the tenants may not have the same sleep schedule as you. The hostel itself was well kept, bar was great, and rates were favorable.

Staff are friendly rooms are clean beds are comfy and its great to meet new faces everyday!! I would definatly stay again and recommend it to others..thank you Generator! ;)

No let downs with this burger called beefeater!! So freaking good!! Also stayed at this hostel for a few days being in a larger room with 6people is still very comfortable and clean overall. I would definitely recommend coming back here

Stayed here in April after our hotel fell through unexpectedly in Dublin. Had very low expectations before booking but was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. My boyfriend and I stayed in a coed bunk room with six bunk beds for an exact week. Was pretty small but had lockers under the bed for personal use. Although it was coed, I had all male roommates. Showers are better than I expected and provide generic soap/shampoo. The pub downstairs was the best part. Great music, great people and Great Guinness. Had a great burger too and made some pretty cool friends. Pros: super cheap, close to everything, and I felt completely safe the entire time. Cons: hmmm. Roommates can get in pretty late and pretty drunk so pack some ear plugs. Definitely worth it. Also don't pass up on those free walking tours 😀

Very nice hostel, rooms are clean and the beds are setup so you have some privacy.

In my case I did have to go to reception to ask wether they could go to the room next to mine to quite down a group of French people who were having a small party in they're room. Security was there very quickly and the noise went down significantly.

They have a bar with live music which has a nice informal vibe were you can pick out of different places to lounge.

Nice big rooms, we had a 10 person room, most the of girls were quiet, one woke up super early and was loud and used the hairdryer. The place has a hip vibe, and had a guy play acoustic guitar, in the cafe on the first floor. Food and drinks were available for a reasonable price. I would reccomend

Maybe the best hostel in Dublin. Very nice atmosphere. Great rooms, nice beds, common showers are very good. Breakfast not included.

this hostel is AMAZING! perfect location, really cool rooms (we had a jacuzzi in the dorm!!!) and atmosphere. You have the chance to meet lots of people since they have many things going on throughout the week! If you're in Dublin, go here!

Really great hostel, big and spacious. We were upgraded to a better room which was nice. In a great spot in Dublin by the Jameson distillery and just across the river from Temple Bar. Only issue was the room was warm so we had the windows open which meant then we could hear all the stag parties outside until late in the AM.

Hotel-style hostel with attached bar and cafe. The nice thing about it is you know exactly what you're getting no matter which Generator Hostel you're staying in As a hostel, you're going to get a big mix of people staying with you, and this one seems to attract the whole range, old dudes on business trips included. Checkout is easy, and there is laundry facilities. I'll go again if I'm not looking for a boutique experience.

Great place to stay in Dublin! Not so far from the center. Lovely atmosphere : clean, quality food, correct prices, secured. I stayed in the 1st floor and as there is music ans stuff at the bar, I heard nothing. I really appreciate it! I recommended.

Was disappointed with this hostel as it's not really a hostel in the normal sense. The Generator is run more like a hotel with very strict rules. They do not allow you to bring any drinks back into the building. There are no group outings or events planned. There is 1 communal washroom/shower room per floor (with several stalls). On the positive it is fairly clean so it does have that going for it.

Decent rooms.

Lots of couches to hang out. Big bar.
It has all you need for a fun stay in Dublin really.

I stayed in this hostel with my friends for a few nights. We had stayed in the Generator Hostel before when were visiting London and we had a good experience.

I am glad to say that the standard we experienced in London was the same as in Dublin. The rooms are clean, staff friendly, toilets and bathrooms plenty and clean. Like the hostel in London, the Generator Hostel in Dublin has a bar and restaurant where you can order food and beers.

The only negative thing was that the toilets don't flush that well and that the cleaning of the toilets are not cleaned on a daily basis. Let just say that not guest cleaned up their mess once they are done!

Overall a very good experience. I would definitely recommend this place and this would be my preferred place to stay when visiting Dublin.

I stayed in the Generator in Dublin with 5 of my friends and we rented out a 6 person room for ourselves. This hostel was absolutely fantastic! I had never stayed in a hostel before and I was nervous, but everything was very clean and the people were so friendly! Security was great as well, because the elevators, rooms, and even the door to the outside all required a key card for entry like a hotel. There is 24-hr reception in case we needed any assistance. This hostel is targeted more towards the college student, and the environment was very cool, dim lights in the cafe/bar area, live music on some nights, along with trivia and karaoke on other nights. I would totally stay here again, we had a wonderful week in Dublin staying in the Generator. 10/10 would recommend to friends!
