DEPLORABLE SERVICE, BAD ATTITUDE, BOGUS CC CHARGES
We arrived with our traveling companions at Crown Plaza Northwood Dublin for our last night in Ireland to be checked in by a curt, discourteous Olga at Reception, a greeting that was totally inconsistent with our visit in Ireland. We requested that our room be billed separately from our traveling companions, which Olga rudely rebuffed. After repeating the request, Olga curtly stated, “I know what I’m doing”. When we checked out at 7:15am both room charges had been placed on our traveling companion’s CC, requiring a credit to their card, then billing to our card. This transaction took some time, making us tardy for the hotel airport shuttle which, in turn, pissed-off the shuttle driver who sped off before the four of us were seated, sending our wives to the floor and our bags skidding the length of the bus, putting us all at risk of injury. He then abruptly stopped, slamming on the brakes, jostling our baggage and wives again. He turned around and rudely exclaimed that he could not proceed until we were seated, and glared at us, which was very weird. He then drove forward a short distance, stopped abruptly to pick up another woman passenger, speeding off before she was seated or had stowed her luggage in another egregious show of scorn. We were appalled, especially in contrast with the genuinely friendly people of Ireland who, without exception, greeted us with sincere interest, curiosity, enthusiasm, and grace. This Crown Plaza Northwood staff appeared to be inept, with a contemptuous attitude, suggesting they could take a page, and some professional training, from Ireland’s superb and vibrant tourist professionals. Also, to add insult to injury, the front desk double charged my credit card for our stay, which I will have to dispute and resolve. Unbelievable! We were traveling with friends who had attended a 4-day conference at this Crown Plaza two weeks previous, leaving us with a deplorable impression. Crown Plaza Northwood was a disappointing ending to our stellar 16 days of travel in Ireland. My recommendation is to avoid this property.response / report this review -

The whole experience was great. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant options were good, and the airport shuttle was very convenient. The room was quite good. The beds were comfortable; the bathroom was clean and the water temperature and pressure were good; there were plenty of outlets and the different outlet options were quite welcome; and the Wifi was quite fast and reliable.

We stayed here twice on our trip, the first and the final days. The airport shuttle was efficient and on time, and the front desk staff were very helpful. Shaji was the first to greet us and provided us complimentary coffees. Olga at the front desk was very kind and gave us upgraded rooms (for free) both stays. The rooms were very clean with nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. They also had wall outlets of various types for international appliances.
Breakfast options were extensive and available for a reasonable price (10 pounds). The front desk also converted currency for us and provided the exact change that we would need for the city bus. There is a Dublin bus stop about 1/4 mile away from the hotel that will take you straight to downtown Dublin.response / report this review -

A nice hotel located near the airport (now by walk but with a taxi or shuttle you can make it there in 10 minutes. Regular buses will take you easily to the city centre. Free wifi/ a friendly front office staff/ great breakfast buffetall are the perks when you stay here.

I'd say this is the best value option in the airport area. It's just next to the beautiful Santry Demesne, has 24/7 airport shuttle and starts serving breakfast at 6am on weekdays and 6.30 on weekends.
The hotel has reasonably sized and well laid out rooms with luxurious king size beds.
This all sounds like a five star review, but there are issues: while the restaurant provides superb buffet breakfast, the dinner experience is lousy.. Go eat in the bar, really. The staff in the bar is more professional, there is table service and great on tap beer selection..
Another issue I experienced, it took minutes, probably more than 10, to get hot water, strange.. It took about two minutes for the tap water in my bath or sink to get even lukewarm.. Also the WiFi connection was flaky..response / report this review -

If you have a layover at Dublin airport then the Crowne Plaza is a good choice, they have a complimentary shuttle bus from the airport, coach stop 16, which runs at 20 minute intervals for most if the day and it takes about 10 minutes, it also picks up for the Holiday inn which is next to Crowne Plaza. The hotel is nice and modern with a good decorations, and the rooms are a good size. They have a restaurant and a bar in the hotel with decent prices. There is also a good sized gym with lots of machines and equipment. All the rooms have safes and the executive rooms have a nice selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The breakfast is normally only €10 if you buy it at check in which is good value. All in all a good airport hotel if the rate is good.

10 minutes away from the Dublin Airport with a free shuttle that runs every 20 minutes. Nice amenities like the aromatherapy spray and oil. Very clean and comfortable rooms with friendly staff. The restaurant menu is a bit lagging and could be improved, and actually bar menu had more choices, with the same prices. Your paying more for sitting in a quiet booth than at a load bar or coffee table in the lobby. It more luxurious than middle grade but not as nice as The Clayton. Standard room with king bed, desk, mini fridge, night stands. Flat screen TV, safe, and pant press. Bathroom is nice with tub and separate shower.

The rooms were really clean and the beds really comfy. It is next to a great park, good for stretching the legs after a long flight. The room service is excellent and there is a late check-out time.

Nice rooms, ours smelled a bit like smoke. One of the employees was relatively rude when we asked for a cab. Decent experience and nice distance from the airport.

This hotel is located short drive from the Dublin international airport. There is a bust that drives up and down to the airport. The rooms are nice, cosy and with all amenities. You will find here the usual staff as toiletries, towels, safe, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, minibar, tv and power sockets for EU,UK and US. In the hotel you will find gym. There is no spa like sauna or pool. You will also find in the lobby the bar as well as restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful and will give you guidance on how to get to the centre. There is a bus to the centre short walk from the hotel. It takes around 20-30 minutes.

We didn't have the best experience here, but the staff more than made up for it! Our heat didn't work, and the fan was really noisy. We called for assistance but nobody came. We called again and finally someone came and "fixed it". We went out for the afternoon and when came back, still no heat, room was freezing. My husband wasn't feeling well so we just wanted to go to sleep. We called and asked for a new room. After a while waiting they finally came through with a new room and as an apology they gave us both a glass of warm whisky and complimentary breakfast. They handled it wonderfully. Thank you for making this a pleasant experience.
