Ballnahinch Castle is a unique hotel that specialises in catering for fishing and shooting groups. Many non hunting guests enjoy the excellent food and beverages. The staff are very friendly and always willing to assist guests with local information.

My husband and I have stayed here twice, and the experience on both occasions was way beyond our expectations. The service, food, comfort and charm of this magical place is incomparable to anywhere else we have stayed. The personal touch is evident from initial communication to the duration of your stay making your visit truly exceptional and wonderful. Can't wait to visit again. Thanks so much!

Visited the bar. Outstandingly beautiful and authentic castle. It's history is interesting, changing hands many times between aristocratic dynasties, now s wonderful hotel.

The staff have been attentive and provided excellent service. Daz and James in the pub, along with John who works the late night shift. The restaurant and pub food have been too notch. The grounds are beautiful. Scenery is wonderful. If you have the opportunity to stay, do it!

Excellent luxury accommodations. Expansive grounds with walking trails. Prime fishing for trout and salmon.
The staff was very attentive - John provided my wife with a quick, but informative tour of the outstanding art collection in the hotel public areas.
Beautiful, quiet setting for this Castle make it a prime luxury vacation spot.
Our room was very large, with an exquisite view of the river that runs directly behind the castle.
Food was well-prepared and very tasty. Breakfast is an especially good treat.
Fishing was great - my wife caught a 5.75 lb salmon that made her the talk of the hotel - including a ceremonial weighing of the fish on old scales in the hotel bar, congratulations all around from guests and staff and the requisite recording of the catch details in a fish catch register log that the hotel has maintained since the 1970s. Made the experience that much more enjoyable. Topped off by a delicious preparation of the salmon filets by the hotel chef.
Don't miss the Island and Lobster experience with guide John Sullivan. Fishing for mackerel, tour of small, but beautiful uninhabited (except by sheep and goats!) island, and checking of the lobster and crab catch.
A truly elegant hotel in a beautiful, proper country manor setting.
The surrounding Connemara countryside is magical.

A wonderful location, the staff make you feel special, the rooms are excellent, with lovely little details and personal touches from the manager. The food is amazing, staying here is a real treat and well worth the cost.

From the greeting by the staff upon our arrival to the solace provided by the ancient woods, this hotel was well worth the drive from Galway. Whether you come to fish, hunt, ride, hike, or just chill, this place will enchant you.

Amazing place to stay. Lovely comfortable rooms with beautiful views. Traditional yet tastefully updated with modern comforts. Delicious food. Picturesque walks. All in all a luxurious getaway - absolutely faultless

Simply device. This is not an easy place to get to, set in the wilds of Connemara but if you make the effort, the reward is great. On arrival the facade, entrance door and even reception appear underwhelming but that is simply the beauty of the place. Someone has put a lot of thought and time in to this building. Rarely have I come across decor in a public building to match this quality. It doesn't jump out at you, it simply feels just right. Our deluxe room was up there with the benchmark for Irish hotel accommodation, Harveys Point. Although not as big, there was ample space and again that feeling of quality throughout. Then there are the views of the river and the woods, just enchanting. So stop reading this review and book a break now!
