I will start with the booking, every email I send them was replied to super fast. The room, we stayed in number 72 it is a absolutely beautiful room and we could not have asked for more it was extremely clean. The service was brilliant and stuff welcoming and friendly. The breakfast had a good verity and was good. The dinners was fantastic especially the calamari starter just wish it was a main so we could have had more. The waiters was fast and we never had a dirty plate or a empty cup of coffee. We were definitely sad to leave and love every minute of it!! Thanks for a great romantic Anniversary

Fab hotel. Great fun. Great food. Lovely room. Excellent service. The champagne was more compulsory, than complimentary to all guests on arrival. Such a warm welcome. Special Thanks to Brian Hughes on the piano. So much laughter. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great friendly welcome to this fine old worldly establishment where the rooms are warm and comfortable, the food is delicious and the entertainment is spot on. This is all complemented by the setting which is an area of outstanding natural beauty steeped in history. You won't be disappointed. I have been enjoying the beauty an the hospitality since the 1980's.

The staff at the castle truly love to be hospitable and to entertain people. It shows in every detail! This place was the highlight of our trip and I would love to come back some day.

Stayed two nights standard double. Room 74 has a beautiful view over the front garden aspect and Clifden bay.
You could not ask for more warmth and hospitality from any hotel than this one gives! The staff here will do whatever is in their power to make your stay perfect. Yes parts of this hotel could do with a little refurbishment but it is totally clean with all necessary facilities, everything was perfectly serviceable and one of the best nights sleep I have had in a hotel in a long time. The ethos of this place is spot on and I love the way they bring all the guests together by introducing them to one another and breaking the ice. Everyone almost felt like family. I would definitely be delighted to stay here again. Included in the stay is afternoon tea with delicious hot scones and a champagne reception with nibbles and a local history lesson from Roger (lovely man)
New furniture or whatever does not maketh a hotel! If you overlook this place then you will miss out! Staff here work tremendously hard.response / report this review -

Beautiful Castle on the outside. Didn't feel like a castle on the inside. Plenty of parking. The room was felt like royalty, yet the bathroom needed some updates. Staff was friendly. We enjoyed our night

Great dinner and nice rooms. The facilities also seem nice but I've spent most days seeing nearby sites. The walk to the castle ruins up the road is a peaceful stroll and seeing an off the road castle is a very fun experience

The hotel itself is absolutely great. It has a beautiful old architecture and the staff is friendly.
Our room wasn't the newest one but although very nice. The breakfast was very diversified.
We had a room with a beautiful view over the garden an the town center. Clifden is also a very nice town and worth the visit.response / report this review -

Wonderful lovely place! Ended up staying a second night we loved it so much. Beautiful views, delicious food, 7€ for up to 3 trips to a dessert bar that I never made it to more than two times but SO good! Free champagne in the evenings was a nice touch and opportunity to meet others and hear the staff talk about the area. Comfy beds and rooms, just lovely. The water in the shower was a light rust color but turned out was ok, made my hair so soft which was really nice actually. I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back and stay in a bigger room next time, very romantic. The view from the double room we had was so gorgeous. The staff is fantastic as well!

Service was great. Staff was very helpful and polite. Rooms were very clean. The hotel's history is very interesting. The only downfall are the very narrow roads in the area, but that seems to be the case just about everywhere in Ireland. Would definitely recommend.

Without doubt this is one of my favorite hotels to visit. The staff are very friendly and greeted me by name every day as if they have know me for years. The area is fantastic with some amazing views!

My wife and I only got to stay one night but we enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous, the room was comfortable, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious.
My wife and I have already discussed that if we are ever able to come back to Ireland that we are going to spend more time in the Clifden area and stay at Abbeyglen Castle.response / report this review -

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were greeted at our vehicle in the parking lot as soon as we arrived. Jules loaded all of our bags on his cart and escorted us to the check in counter. The sing alongs at the piano bar were a blast with amazing group participation. Innkeeper Brian made us feel welcome and appreciated.
