The room given to us wasn't what we expected from the pictures online which was a disappointment. Walls were grubby and scratches were on the bathroom tiles. Also there was a lack of a safe in the room, they do have a safe at reception but its not ideal tbh. The lobby was nice. They have a pianist that adds to the atmosphere. Location is close to the Aviva stadium and not far from a train station for getting into town. Would be handy if going to a concert/event.
Probably the worst hotel in dublin, was supposed to have been knocked down 10years ago. Staff are good but working in an appalling place, owners are milking the last euro, worth about 60 euros a night but they charge 160 and you pay extra for parking 12 euros
Cupboards doors, bathrooms entire bedrooms are so old
Public areas archaic
Stayed here for 3 nights. Fabulous hotel. Room was very spacious and clean. Staff were fantastic and extremely helpful and friendly. Food was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel. Very warm rooms even with the heater off! We came in a few days early for a bus tour and we stll got early wake up calls even before starting the tour. Also there were 3 in our room, but housekeeping only ever gave us two sets of towels. Aside from these small annoyances I would still highly recommend this hotel.
Loved it. Food was lovely. Music was great at residents bar. Beds were comfortable and rooms where clean along with bathrooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again and the price was great and very low at the time I booked it which made it all the more better lol.
Nice bar. Check in was smooth and efficient.
Meeting rooms were very nice and staff really friendly and professional.
Although the bedroom was very spacious. It was musty and smelled a little damp.
We absolutely loved the hotel! I especially loved the church chimes that could be heard faintly throughout the night. Seriously, it was so charming and soothing! Our first night in Dublin and I loved it! I will definitely stay at Ballsbridge again when I return to Ireland!
We also enjoyed the pub and restaurant! Very friendly staff and great food! Also, 2 long blocks from the hotel are conveniently located shops for food, adapters, etc.
Free parking for guests was amazing perk! We thought we were going to have to pay and were pretty jaded about the idea but parking ended up being free for us. Location is just down the road from some amazing food choices. We had a 3 person room and initially thought they forgot the third person's towels but in reality they were in the closet. We pre-bought breakfast but honestly, it isn't that good. Everything lacks flavor. That is the only real downfall. If you don't need to add breakfast for some reason, go somewhere else to eat your breakfast. Other than that, the only flaw to the room was a broken door stop. Everything else was great.
The hotel is located in an area where embassies are located so logically it is upmarket. It is a 20 minutes walk from Grafton Street, the Main Street where you can find stores of clothing and some well known eateries. Another 5 minutes of walk will take you to Trinity College, a leading college in Ireland, that can boast of greats like Jonathan Swift.
The hotel itself is good with an impressive reception. You are greeted by helpful staff who in all probability be able to assist you to your satisfaction. The rooms are quiet with wide windows that allow light to stream in. There is no air conditioning and the heating can't be turned on from the room itself. One wonders why not. Penny wise pound foolish?
If one had to nitpick, I would have preferred brighter lights especially in the washroom since it assists in shaving. But that is a personal preference. Unfortunately, the finish of the washroom is not at par with the rest of the infrastructure.
Still it's a good hotel with a bar to boot!!
Business trip. Pretty basic, bit run down in areas. Very close to the office in Ballsbridge. Walked to center of dublin easily (all be it, fulled with alcohol)
Great Location for Landsdown Road and short walk into Grafton Street. The hotel is very large with rooms to match. Bar prices are reasonable and I have found the staff helpful and friendly. The airport shuttle also drops off outside which makes it much easier getting to and from the airport. Recommended if you don't mind a 15-20 min walk to town. Some great bars around the hotel and give Paddy Cullen's a go.
Lovely room great hotel food is lovely. Do not park under the trees! There are signs warning of bird droppings but they are more like a full swarm of pterodactyl!
Slightly above average hotel. Fine for a night or two. The walls were slightly grubby in the room and the WiFi didn't really work well. The pillows were also a bit too firm for my liking.
However the staff were really friendly and the bed was very large.
Lovely hotel clean rooms good facilities. Staff were helpful when checking in and out. Didn't eat in hotel so can't comment on food. Good location for the city with public transport links outside the hotel.
