Beautiful hotel with so much charm, wonderful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast- couldn't recommend enough!

We stayed here about 2 years ago. We loved this quaint hotel. It is family owned and operated! Fresh Gingerbread greets you with a lovely cuppa of Irish tea (I've become addicted and order it on line now)! The room wasn't huge, but we're traveling, so we're not in the room that long. Bathroom and room were clean and BIG PLUS, they left the heat on for us! (Many hotels and B&Bs in Ireland turn off their heat during the nightit gets pretty chilly, trust me!). They did have wash rags too, which is uncommon in Europe (they expect you to carry your own)! Friends front desk (one of the owners), lovely sitting room. Greatly enjoyed it here!

The soap for the bathroom smelled like pledge. Rooms have pretty this walls. Staff is nice and breakfast is really good

The staff was fantastic. The hotel itself is an historic gem with eloquent style, antique furniture adorning every hallway and stairway landing! The dining is fabulous, with white linen adorning every tableeven for breakfast, not to mention the delicious cuisine! The rooms are large and very clean! The bathrooms have gorgeous tile walls and floorsI just can't describe how wonderful this "home away from home" is, you must see for yourself! This has everything (and more) a Five Star hotel possesses! You won't regret your stay here!

There is a carnival immediately outside our rooms in the back of this hotel. If you can deal with loud music, people screaming, and bumper cars until 11:30 p.m. or so, than this place is for you. If not, you need to find a different place. The location is good as far as being in the heart of downtown, but terrible if you need to sleep. Some of the rooms have no air conditioning, and it can get hot sometimes, as it is now.

Great location in the heart of Killarney. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is furnished with a mix of old and new that gives it a great charm.

Guest here as Peggy Espinosa. Friday night I thought this is great it is so quite. Saturday night totally different. The taxi hub to pick up loud drunks is in front of hotel. Located right under my window. The bar to the hotel located right under my room 112. If you are young and like to party please stay here. If you are a mature adult think twice!

We had a delightful two night stay in October 2016. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was filling and delicious. The staff was helpful. Special kudos to Betty of the dining staff who was especially attentive to our needs. Centrally located. Lovely antiques. Fireplaces keep the lobby areas cozy.

Quiet and comfortable room, near the train station and close to shopping and great pubs a few blocks away. Rates are very fair-priced.
My wife and I traveled from Texas to Ireland, took a train from Dublin to Killarney and we simply walked from the train station to the Arbutus Hotel, which I'd call about four hundred yards away.
I liked the location because it seemed to be on the edge of the tourist area and was quiet, but within easy walking distance to the spots we wanted to see, or catch a bus to. There is a small bar downstairs, and although we never went in, the patrons were never rowdy or loud. Never heard anything from our room on the second floor and almost above the bar.
If we ever go back, I'd be very happy to stay here again.response / report this review
