Lovely little hotel - staff spoke functional English (though I wish I spoke Hungarian to make it easier on them - so that's not a complaint about the hotel at all!). Rooms were cosy, *air conditioned* (important when outside was routinely 30+) and the bed was nice. Booking via the concierge was easy, though would have preferred to pay by card rather than cash (it was explained they pay the tour companies direct). Breakfast was plentiful and the walk into town not terrible at all. The only problem we really had was taxis - fares varied widely, and it was difficult to explain where the hotel was.

Wonderful hotel, my second stay here and my husbands first visit to Budapest so I chose this hotel as it's only 15-20 minutes walk to the city centre. Staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Food in there restaurant is absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. Rooms are beautifully kept and staff come in every morning to clean,I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who hasn't been here before

Very Bad experience Pay for double bed more of 75 for night and just get a small single bed without previous advice to cancel also forced to pay on cash. No recommended for the money you pay. Avoid

Bus stop right outside which is handy to get to Pest. Clean, comfortable room breakfast included. Despite being near main road room was quiet.

The lads booked a stag and a pretty terribble hotel in budapest. So i decided to book another hotel. I booked the Gold hotel and stayed here for 3 nights. It is fresh modern clean and priced very reasonable in comparison to the hotel hungaria where i was originally booked.

We stayed there for 4 nights and booked with breakfast. We booked with a credit card and have been told to pay cash, because of the bank or something like that, but We think it's because they don't want to pay taxes!!
The location is good and near the bus stop. The room was clean and beautiful but the towels were really old and bad quality, and the shower gel is even worse! It's what we use for dish washing normally! The TV is old too.
The breakfast was the worst breakfast, you could imagine! The coffee was really bad, the boiled eggs were boiled several times and had a bad smell, just 2 kinds of cheese,salami and pork, the vegetables were a disaster! No fruit!
I don't understand the 4 stars or the beautiful photos but obviously they hired a photograph with a big imagination! I wouldn't book there any more! We loved Budapest, we will come another time for a visit but for sure we are not staying in this hotel!

Not the hotel, but the restaurant the proprietor seems to be one of the most disagreeable fellows I have ever encountered. Upon entry he was cursing up a storm because a previous customer had left without paying: he seemed to think we were somehow responsible. Gave him a few minutes to calm down to no avail. By the way, regardless of what their Web site says, they have no idea what a Puszta Cocktail is.
