This is a 3 star hotel at best. The room is small and may be a challenge for two bigger size people with large suitcases. The premises itself is really small with only a few rooms in each floor. The gym is also small with only two treadmills so it may be crowded with easily. Breakfast is good though. Location wise not too bad as it is a stones throw from the nearest subway station.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were nice and happy to help us at anytime. The hotel is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of central, providing a much needed escape. However still very well situated. There is a 7-Eleven right next door, and a "Wellcome" supermarket just 2 minutes down the road. It's a 30 second walk to HKU station, which gets to central in under 10 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants around too, with excellent authentic food! The location is therefore fantastic. We preferred to walk more than getting the metro (just personal preference), It's around a 40 minute walk from central. You can walk up to the Victoria Peak from the hotel, in just 90 minutes! The gym and swimming pool are very good, although only open 7.30am-7.30pm, this is my only criticism, they could have been available for a little longer. The air con was great, and so was the shower, and the room was very clean. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel. Great location, clean and friendly!
Good location, friendly staff. Do not disturb notice meant nothing as they still called our room and disturbed us to see if they could clean. Food was mediocre at best for breakfast. Most hot food was room temperature and we had to ask them to refill bread, water, OJ, and give us salt and pepper shakers on more than one occasion.
One elevator was down so it took forever to get the elevator. Once I waited 7 minutes. Room quality could use an upgrade. Gym had 2 people working out in it when I tried to go and there was no room to work out. Bellmen downstairs don't act as real bellmen. Location great, though.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay. The room was clean, well set out and with good amenities. The staff were always friendly and helpful, especially Gillian. I really appreciated that there was a consistency so you I saw Gillian the most but I also really liked Sharon.
The Club Room was such a haven of calm and I really enjoyed my breakfasts and refreshments there.
I would stay again and not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Great room with wonderful views. A very comfortable bed. Staff overall very efficient, friendly and helpful. Great team at the club lounge who were very attentive to us. We visited your hotel in March 2017 and this visit we missed the fresh fruit tub we used to get every day in our room. Will definitely visit again in the future.
hotel is look unique a little bit.. because Affiliated of 5 star hotel. And good for give me upgrade. and nice seaview. and give me late. check-out But feel a bit disappointed, is not good in the beginning to get the room almost 4pm. And about the club is should be provide for me , this for first time just a complimentary gift.for waiting room for so long. pay extra 400 for the club but didn't have chance to eat breakfast so sad for that.. Room is okay. but toilet is so tiny small the door open Is inconvenience
Great location - across the street from HKU MTR station. Quiet and many choices for lunch/dinner nearby. Good value for money.
Very nice hotel. Good location for my trip at HKU. The room is quite spacious. Price is reasonable compared to living standard in HK. Room cleaning service is good. However, there is no heater and the room is the same temperature with outside. During my stay, the weather is too cold and my room is 8-9 deg C all the time.
Stayed more than 100 nights at this hotel, grow attached to it. Rooms are OK, business travel essential. Club floor offers free dinner snacks and Cafe Malaka is absolutely awesome. Gym is not big but often it is empty so you can enjoy a quite morning or night exercise. Staffs are friendly. Laundry services are good, stuff everything in a unified per bag charge. If you prefer dry clean they send clothes to Island Shangri-la to handle.
Conveniently located, rooms are in reasonable size. It's Malacca restaurant provides superb food, very popular, advanced booking is recommended.
What do you expect from the former Traders HK? Excellent club room with a fine selection of food for cocktails and breakfast. Harbour view rooms spacious and well designed. Gym a big disappointment for a Hotel of this quality though
I've stayed in the Hotel Jen in Singapore as well, and in both locations the attentiveness and level of service from the staff were spectacular. They handled anything we needed with speed and aptitude.
The location is great - right across the street from an MTR entrance, and the accommodations are nice for the price.
Had a wonderful stay in Hotel Jen, friendly staff, great facilities and loved the rooftop pool! Would def come again! Also the bento box breakfast is so cool!
Very convenient for everything you need
clean room lots old school eatery nearby 24-7 beef noodles is great and others eatery plentiful choices n delicious
The location is very good, right outside HKU metro stop on the Island line. It is also close to a tram line. The hotel rooms are decently sized, by Hong Kong standards. Food was delicious and the staff members were attentive and responsive. Lounge is at the 28th level along with a gym and a pool, both one level further up. View from these locations gives an impression of the neighbourhood. Environment is peaceful and sleep quality was good. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel!
Service was exceptional with lots of great local advice and convenience due to close proximity of MTR train station. Wish we were closer to other tourist attractions but you get what you pay for. Rooms a bit on the small side but well kept and modern. Would not mind staying again!
Great location, modern, clean. Comfy beds and great view over the harbour.
Fantastic hotel. Our first stay here and if we ever come back to Hong Kong I would definitely stay here again. Lovely rooms and attentive courteous staff.
Cafe Malacca their hotel restaurant is fantastic. Great Malaysian / Singaporean food.
The hotel itself is fine, but a bit out of the way.
It is part of the Shangri La chain, but very much the budget end.
Good business hotel. Fast WiFi Adequate rooms although a bit boring. No surprises here. Not a place you'd remember -- rather bland and generic. Professional staff. Great location.
Modern, clean, nice hotel. Nice view of the harbor from many rooms. Professional staff. Good breakfast.
