Avoid this "hostel"! We had our money stolen by someone from the staff from our locked private room while we were out in town. Really shady place!

Friendly owner, I am grateful for her help with a booking
But very dirty
Two dogs put their food everywhere, urinated and sh in one of the dormitories.
The bedclothes were that ugly I was glad I had my own sleeping bag.

Unfortunately the moment I checked in to this hostel guests warned me that the owner's boyfriend was a thief and that I had to be very careful of my belongings. For the first night I enjoyed my stay enough that I booked a second. On that second day I went to get dinner and came back to find somebody had made quite an effort to break the lock I had on the locker with my valuables in it, enough so that the door wouldn't open without serious effort. As a result I wouldn't recommend other travelers to stay until she gets this guy out of the hostel. Once the thieving boyfriend is gone I'd say it's a nice enough place if you're on a budget.

Great price, but terrible smell. The lovely owner and an older pirate gentleman live in the lobby/common area. Due to their beds and two dogs tromping around, the place has a nasty odor, that upon day one wasn't much of a big deal but it only increased.

Like others, the google maps location is a block further north. Wonderful terrace, nice people, great location, just needs a good scrub.

Also if your looking for the cheapest tours around the owner can help, we didn't go with hers but others had a great time.

Great homely hostel with a family atmosphere. We left in xmas eve and missed out of xmas dinner with everyone! There is a kitchen with more than enough utensils, lockers, drinking water, laundry available and a rooftop with an awesome view. Had a great stay and wanted to extend! The location on google is incorrect by 100m. Keep walking up the street and it'll be on the left, there's a sign above the car park entrance. Very safe location, and a cool house dog!

Great hostel. Really homely. Run by a really friendly lady from Russia. Has all the facilities you'd need. There's even a rooftop terrace where you can eat and watch the volcanoes steaming. please note, at time of writing this review Google Maps gives the wrong location. The blue dot on my attached picture is the true location.
