Lentil soup was out of this world. Went with a big group and got to sample a good portion of the menu, but truly would go out of my way for the lentil soup again. One comment though, if taking a family, make sure you think through the kids. Ended up grabbing some quesadillas from go green for a few of the little ones. Everything here is pretty sophisticated.

Great spot for young travelers, prices are excellent, honestly the only halfway reasonable dinner prices in Antigua. Considering the cost of living in Guatemala, it's absurd how badly they're ripping off tourists. Chermol is a happy oasis in that sea of extortionism.

Chermol has a great selection of beers; I got a nice amber from Costa Rica. They also have a variety of empanadas for about $1.25 each; I had a lovely one with plum, onion, and bacon. Yum! It was Tuesday night, and I took advantage of their special: a smaller portion of their typical Argentinian steak dinner for a lower price (47 quetzales, about $6.35). It was a piece of steak, piece of chorizo, portion of roast potatoes, and a side of salad. Then there was a plate of three sauces on the side: chimichurri (I think meant for the steak), a yellowish sauce I thought might be a mild creamy mustard (went well with the chorizo), and a sauce of what seemed to be chopped red chiles in olive oil (spicy). The salad was fresh and crisp with a delicious dressing. The potatoes were great, hot with crispy edges and lovely savory, slightly spicy seasoning. Loved the chorizo. The only thing that makes me give this four stars instead of five is that the steak wasn't great, and since it's meant to be the centerpiece of the meal, that detracted. They didn't ask me a temperature; it arrived medium. It was fairly tough, so maybe sirloin--yet didn't have much flavor like sirloin. I doused it with the chimichurri. Still, it was such a good deal and everything else was very good. I would definitely go again.

Note, it''s hard to find, inside a courtyard with several restaurants. A Dunkin' Donuts is one of these and has a street presence, that could help you find it.

Not too easy to find as tucked away in a little courtyard behind some other eateries, but we'll worth looking for. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely fresh food. Try the Argentinian steak with sausage salad and chips/potato salad, fantastic and priced so reasonably. They also have a nice selection of craft beers.

This little restaurant is well tucked away at the back of a building . But it's worth finding your way past the dunkin donuts and bath and body store because the food is awesome and the vibe is relaxed. Highly recommend you try the octopus capaccio and the sangrias (the berry one is pretty much a wine smoothie)
