This was a stop as part of a Caravan tour so everything was set up for us before arrival. The rooms are beautiful and the hotel has wonderful artwork and flowers all around the property. Each room had individual touches to enjoy. The hotel is walking distance to town so it is very convenient for shopping. The restaurant was next to the beautiful large pool and we loved the food and the view. We enjoyed having the smaller pool near our rooms. Street vendors abound - we bought from Clara (and her friends) near the entrance of the hotel - lovely fabrics (very fair prices). Jades Imperio Maya is owned by locals with beautiful jewelry and jade items - something for everyone within budget - and they take credit cards! The volcano grumbled every morning and we were lucky enough to have a clear view during one breakfast. Overall, a comfortable upscale hotel that has a lot of personal touches. Their hospitality starts with the cool drink upon arrival and the treat delivered to the room in the afternoons. You cannot go wrong staying here.

Over the top beautiful aesthetically. Wonderfully helpful staff. I only wish the coffee was second cracked and the music was colonial, but those are small concessions.

Fantastic Family friendly hotel in the heart of Antigua Guatemala. Accommodations were affordable, comfortable and clean. There is a playground and pool to chill out for the kiddies. Food features superb traditional Guatemalan dishes including tamales, hand-made tortillas, sopas, platanos, mole, etc. Amazing breakfast. On the weekends, they feature local musicians and bands including marimba. Views of the volcano from the hotel are magnificent. Guatemala has so much to offer to those looking for something extraordinary.

Very good located, just a few blocks from the Central Park'so is very easy to go out for a walk without getting lost. Very good service, the personnel was always willing to help, indicating addresses or advising on what to do. Rooms are comfortable, pool and spa area are really nice, I recommend the facials treatments. Breakfast buffet is really good too with tipical Guatemalan food and international menu. It's a good place to have a pleasant time in Antigua

Would never know this expansive hotel was in the heart of Antigua. Do yourself a favor and visit. The couple's spa is an incredible experience.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are nicely designed, with a spacious bathroom and it is kept very clean. The restaraunt has a nice buffet spread for dinner and a fantastic breakfast buffet. The pool is lovely with a perfect view of the volcanoes. A definite must if you're in town.

I stayed at the sibling hotel, Casa Encantada, but enjoyed my morning breakfast buffet at Porta. A comprehensive selection of fruit, cooked foods, and cereals was available, accompanied by impeccable service

We were very excited to celebrate our friends' wedding at Porta Hotel. The couple reserved a wedding block at the hotel, in which I made a reservation. It was not until I arrived to check in that I was informed that my room was not at Porta Hotel, but rather at another of their four buildings, blocks away. When I requested to be accommodated in the same building as the wedding, I was told the hotel would not have any availability until the next day, and would charge me for the "upgrade." I agreed to this option, packed up my belongings, and checked out of the "sister hotel" and went to Porta. The new room was not yet available and I was told to come back at 3pm. When I returned to check into my new room I was informed that that room was yet again in a different building, also off premises. I spoke to the same conceirge as at my initial check in date. This individual had the audacity to tell me that he told me this information yesterday, until he was forced to concede his blatant misrepresentation. I am utterly shocked by the numerous lies the hotel tried to pass off as "misunderstandings." Needless to say, I am staying at a different hotel altogether. Management needs a refresher in the hospitality industry. The hotel looks nice, but that's meaningless if you don't actually get to stay there and the management is a joke.

Landscape is beautiful, pool looks refreshing, lively parrots on the grounds, cute suites with fireplace. Food at the restraunt is delicious, recommend the Sangria with fruit. Yum!! Staff is extremely welcoming, they even brought us brownies to our suite 😊Only negative I felt, is the pillows are flat and lumpy, and bed is too hard for my back, and room is a lil stuffy when you shut the blinds, a ceiling fan would be perfect, otherwise it's a gorgeous location.

Very friendly and fancy place. I've stopped in on several occasions as it is one of the best (and only) spots in town with a playground and my kids love it. The garden around the playground is delightful, and the bar is just to the other side so it's a simple matter to buy a drink and watch the kids play.

Beautiful hotel, service was great, and very easy to walk around to the center of everything. The property is gorgeous!! The rooms are okay, could be updated. I would definitely recommend and would stay again!
