Great central location right down the street from Puerta del Sol! Hotel is nice and clean and has a good breakfast. Staff is GREAT with directions and arranging for a car to get you to the airport (30€ set fee for a taxi to airport from the city center). Definitely recommend

Clean, but average looking hotel with an average breakfast, and expensive for a 3 star hotel. Beware of the lack of natural light and small windows from the 5th floor. Furniture feels rather worn out. On the plus size, positioning cannot possibly get any better in Madrid.

LOVED THIS HOTEL! Stayed here July 2017 and cannot complain about one thing. The location is excellent - right in the heart of Madrid. Plenty of shops and eating places within walking distance. Very safe. The staff are very friendly. Very safe as well.

Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be back.

I'm used to travel to Madrid for my work. I've been to many different hotel in that area (at least 4 others) and this one is the worst !!
I've been there for 12 days and had time to really evaluate this hotel

    First the few good points:

Bed is comfortable. The matress is really pleasant to sleep on.
Room is clean. I had no issue with dust or traces in the bathroom.
Location is perfect. Sol is the real center of Madrid. You can go everywhere from there.

Then, the two many drawbacks !! :

It's very noisy ! Accoustic isolation is quite bad. Moreover, staff here does not seems to take any precaution regarding guest rest. I had someone hammering at 9.30 on Saturday morning (I don't thik it's a guest ;-) ) !! I also have furniture moving at 11.30 in the evening (and it was not a customer as it was two long for someone just moving his bed for example)

The room was really tiny and I had a view on other windows (inside patio) and no light at all all day long.

I had a morning without hot water !!! Unacceptable to have a cold shower when you're paying 160€ a night

One day out of three, the breakfast was not fully served when I was arriving (5 or 10 minutes later than opening time). They was usually bringing what was missing once I had finished to eat. Moreover, the choice is quite limited to my opinion (in comparison to the other hotels I went to). And sometime the pastries where from at least one day before !!

Regarding towel cleaning, they offer you to chose to clean your towel or not (which is a good point). But one day out of two the maid was not respecting this choice !! On twelve days, they changed it at least 6 times (2 or 3 will have been enough for me). There is not point telling you care about environnement when you are not respecting customer choice.

There is a safety exit light in the room !! That means that you can't have full dark in the room

There is no WiFi in the bedroom. No way to check the email from my bed as the provided Ethernet cable is way too short. Moreover, there is no plug available on the desk. That means either you have to crawl under the desk ot charge your devices ortyou unplugg the TV on the very top.

And to finish, on of the personnel I had to talk with was not really good in English (she didn't know what fork and knife means !!). I'm French but I guess my English is still better.

So of course, I can't recommend this hotel. I will for sure not come back in that one. There are other hotels as close as this one from Sol that I advise you (and they might be cheaper)
