Just as magnificent, or more, what I've had thought. Been there several times now. The las when it wasn't a tourist season and that was amazing.

Another amazing thing to see in the pyramid area. It was just cool and nice to be there.
Though at some point you have to deal with some people who wants you to hire guide especially if you come alone. But if you are tough enough to say no they will let you go. Overall, nice experience.

Always impressive to see these pyramids and the work done behind at this period, the sphinx looks also smaller than you thought but still magic to go there and have a look at it. Camel rides available on site

The majestic ancient monuments mark the glory of Ancient Egypt. Situated in the desert, on the outskirts of Cairo, the pyramids in Giza are the most popular among the tourists. The complex includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is the oldest and largest pyramid in the world.

+JMJOh yes!! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! During my USNavy enlistment made two Mediterranean deployments. One deployment afforded me the opportunity to go on an Ancient Egypt tour (tours were regularly organized for overseas crew members.) This tour was a delight because I was able to travel to so many sites I had previously only been able to read about. I am challenged to put into words what I was able to talk around, touch with my own hands, and see with my eyes all that ancient history of Egypt. It would be an understate to state that I marvelled at the ingenuity of the designers of such monuments. Just amazing! If you can travel to Egypt, do so. Seeing is believing!

A part of visiting the great pyramids of Giza is to visit this sphinx, the guardian of Pyramids, at least that's how I understood it. Impressive beauty.

Right in front of the sphinx is the open air theatre for the light shows for pyramids.

Here's looking at a great piece of history and man made monument of ancient Egypt. It's breath taking to the max, especially with the great pyramids nearby. One item checked off my bucket list!

It looks beautiful, ancient, and great. And the locals always offer help. And can see a lot of stuff around it.

Just breathtaking! This is at the entrance of the necropolis, and it's hard to tear oneself away and walk on to the Pyramids. I had forgotten from a visit years ago how large the Great Sphinx is. Absolutely captivating! The son-et-lumiere show at night is equally riveting.

Truly one of the most remarkable places on Planet Earth. There is nothing quite like experiencing the wonder and awe of the Grand Pyramids or the Great Sphinx. Remember to be kind to the locals, do buy some local 'treasures' and definitely enjoy the moment! May your experience be as grand as ours.

The Great Sphinx was a little boring after the pyramids. Maybe our guide wasn't so good. We did get to see one stone that was cut with 7 angles.
There are lots of shops you have to pass to get the area where you can take a photo. Everyone will get in your photo shot. Wait your turn but then be forceful and politely ask others to get out of the way.
You exit a different way then you enter, so you if you want any photos on the way in, take them as you are going.
The entire visit was under 15 minutes.
