Just got back from 9 days at Casa Linda. I've rented several houses on the north coast and this was my first bad experience. After checking into villa we realized none of our showers had any water pressure or hot water. It was so bad that it was just a small single stream dripping from the shower head. They did not send anybody until the next day to look at it. The next day a man came by to see what he could do. Although he reported it was fixed, nothing had changed. By early evening the next day I had to go to the office with a video of the showers before they moved us to another villa. They moved us to the new development that is under construction. The roads were not paved, but since it was a new 5 bedroom instead of the 4 bedroom we decided to move. All the showers still did not work (2 did though) and the shower in the main bathroom had no fixture to hang the shower head, but it was still better then our first house. Then came the power problem. The power went out constantly in the house because of the bad wiring. Once the power goes so does the running water so even in the day it became a problem. We found the breaker room and would go flip the breaker about 5 times a day. Because it's not paved there is a lot of dust around so we used towels to clean our feet constantly to not drag dirt around everywhere. Well this also was a big mistake because apparently this dirt can't be washed from the towels for some strange reason. So for this we were charged 2000 peso's (aprox 60 Canadian dollars) for 3 plain white towels that could be washed. Also a blanket had a cigarette burn in it that apparently we did as well. We we're given another bill for 5000 peso's for this (aprox 120 Canadian dollars) The blanket was worth a maximum 20 dollars. Also it was a little funny they we're still using it in another room in the villa on a different bed. After paying our 200 dollars for 3 towels and a blanket they seemed shocked when we asked to keep what we payed for. We decided to wait about 45 mins for them to bring us this blanket and towels we paid top dollar for and give them to a friend living in DR who was more then happy to have them. In case you're wondering the towels came out just fine after a wash with this magical product called Javex. I could also get into the toilet leak in one of the bathrooms that never got fixed and so on but I think you should get the point by now. Love the North Coast but Casa Linda. never again! Way better value out there for $400 a night.
