They have halal selection of cakes listed (no rum or gellatin) and great customer services! I also like the takeaway packaging. The cakes itselves also worth the krones! You can eat at the place but it is usually crowded.

Gorgeous historic bakery with lovely dining room and friendly, helpful staff. Pastries and cakes look and taste good, too. Monday mornings all the bakers have breakfast together in the dining room, it's nice to see the people behind the scenes. Be warned that this place is very expensive!! Drinks and 4 pastries cost our family of four $75!! That was coffee, tea, two hot chocolates, a piece of cake, a roll with butter, a tart and a Danish. Granted there are free refills of beverages, bit still. Looks can be very long on weekends and midday.

Traditional pastries in city center.
La Glace serves rich, delicious and pretty cakes and pastries, and good tea and hot chocolate (both refillable) as it has been doing for more than 140 years. Just off Strøget, the pedestrian street, it is an important part of Copenhagen food culture. It has outdoor seating for good weather and is popular and crowded, so be prepared to wait at peak times. There are many kinds of cake, including a sports cake (anything but), which is loaded with nougat and whipped cream. The service is efficient and semi-friendly.response / report this review -

so good! i personally cant speak danish, but when i went up to get more tea I spoke English to the staff and they smiled and was very kind to me. if you get tea , get their signature, its worth it. What makes me like it even more is the decor and pastries, they keep the decor 1800s style, just like the decor they had when they opened! the treats are to die for! they are so good! they don't put in substitute things like cream and other things. It may be expensive but its worth it.

Overly sugary cakes and high prices. Don't get excited about the "2 hot chocolate cups for the price of 1", they charge the hot chocolate twice as much, and know that half of customers won't ask for the second cup! It's a fantasy pastry shop that uses a french name to gain cachet, but the food would be barely decent for french standards

We heard that the cakes here were the things to try. Purportedly the best in Copenhagen. Well, that was false. These could be the best in Europe. Tried 4 and they all were mind blowing. None were anything I'd normally try. My life has been changed.

Popped in to very busy shop to buy cakes to take away. Big selection of cakes, all looked stunning. Tried them in the evening, they were among the best cakes I've eaten, masterful creations! Hope to go back and sit inside for coffee and more sublime cake.

Gorgeous, skilled pastries, cakes, tarts, & cookies. Ample seating in the historic confectionary to enjoy your treats off the busy shopping district. The only thing that I would have liked La Glace to have is an espresso machine! There is coffee & tea but it there is something lovely about having a cappuccino with a sweet pastry. That said, it's a historic institution so perhaps it's best they continue as they always have!

Really tasty traditional pastries in an authentic setting. Lots of choices and an awesome hot chocolate with free refill which was much appreciated! However it was too expensive and so loses one star.

Was worth the wait. Very polite staff & a large selection to pick from. I got the rum glazed vanilla cream. Was one of the best things I ate in Denmark.
