I took a picture of the carpet bc it matched all the decor. It was decorated like a tea house. Breakfast was included and tasty. We stayed for 1 night and had a very good experience asking where we could go hike for 2-3 hrs. There is a sauna and indoor pool. Great views and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Bedroom and bathroom were very large.

I booked for 2 days and left the next morning. It was so hot and uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep with windows open. I felt as if I was ill. Once I got back to Munich I felt fine. Spa is only 3-7:30 pm. For me not a good experience.

The Wittelsbacher Hof provides spectacular views of the Alps in Garmisch. The rooms are large with private bathrooms and several TV channels in English. Breakfast is included, and if you ask they will cook up eggs and American Bacon for you. The elevator is out of order, so be prepared to take the stairs, and their are no air conditioners or fans.

Well, where should I start. Let's go from outside in. It's located in a very central spot, only a 4-5mins walk to the Congress Center, which was the reason for my stay. With this comes a relatively busy street though. As my room was located on the backside, I had no problems with noise from the outside.
Inside the first look is nice, but as you look closer, you might see, that a renovation could be an improvement. Personell is polite, friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is quiet, the choice is a bit limited, but tasty. The wine menu gives you some more choice of regional and international wines. Breakfast is served as a buffet, which appears to be a bit small, but has everything one might ask for in a good breakfast. Eggs and stuff are freshmade as desired. Fresh fruit, muesli and juices are waiting for you. Again, staff is nice.

Then the main aspect of a hotel. The room. Well and this is why I can't rate more than three stars. It's tidy, it's quite, it's not to small. But that's about it,I fear. I had a single room, so I can't speak for double rooms. The bed was in a wooden frame, which had hopefully seen better days. The mattress was soft, but in a way, that told me, it was plain old and done for. Same with the carpet, the cupboard and the bathroom. Tidy yes. Good condition, no. The bathroom had a tub, a bidet and toilet. The door could not be shut, which was no problem for me as a single though. The wall, the frame of the tub, the floor all had cracks all over them. Same is with all the rest of the room.
Heating was working fine. We'll kind of sauna fine when I arrived, but I turned it down and it was fine then.

I can't say anything about the wellness area and I don't want to throw in any presumptions.

Well, my overall rating is, the staff is nice, location is good, facilities are fine, restaurant is quite good. But the core discipline, the room, was not what I had in mind. But it was tidy, which is the most important thing, in my opinion. But as I paid about 200,00€ for two nights I can't say that it has a good price performance. After all, I think a little renovation and it has the chance to be a nice and cosy place.

We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, and will help you any way they can. The staff (as well as a couple of the guests) were especially friendly and accommodating to our two children ages 1 and 2. The rooms as well as the entire hotel are very clean according to my wife who is very particular on these issues. You can't beat the location either. Right in the middle of the town, many restaurants , shops and the train station are just a quick walk away. The only negatives are the décor is a bit dated and in need of some minor touch ups like paint. Also, we had a suite where one of the rooms had a tub but no curtain for the shower. However the pool, sauna, and solarium are very nice and a perfect place to wind down after a long day. Lastly the morning breakfasts were fantastic. It comes with fresh fruits, breads and juices to include all the typical foods you would find with a typical German breakfast. Each guest also gets an egg dish made to order if they desire. Very tasty and a great way to start the day. Bottom line is we would definitely stay here again.
