Nice service that brings you help when it is needed. But do not forget to hang "Do not bother" card in the doorknob for not having the cleaning staff opening your door in the morning.

It is not a bad hotel, but I am not sure that it is deserving of the 4-star rating. It is very well situated, but the rooms and fittings are rather plain.

The rooms were very spacious and the bed very comfortable. Service from staff at the front desk was very helpful throughout our stay. The location is incredibly convenient and the entrance is right next to a station.

We arrived on Thursday early morning. It was heavy rain outside and very bad forecast for upcoming hours - Storm Xavier was moving towards Berlin. On a reception we were informed that chick-in is at 15:00 or later (usually 12-13 in any other hotel). No earlier check-in was possible. No alternative options were offered! The staff doesn’t understand the importance of the first impression. The staff doesn’t understand the meaning of the industry they are working in - Hospitality. No hospitality and no affinity were shown towards us. So, we were left outside with a heavy rain and waited until 15:00 when Xavier stormed in Berlin heavily.
Short summary: The reception staff is unqualified, unable to speak English properly, show no interest in you as a client, no hospitality and no intention to help.
Finally we checked in. The room was OK. Clean. Everything worked properly.
It's a 4 star hotel but even regular Finish sauna was available only for EXTRA money. 7,5 euros per day per person. That is what I have been said by the personal, when I requested information about it. Every hotel I stayed (even 3 star hotels) offer sauna as an additional free service that is included in the price. Not here. Here you need to pay EXTRA for every step you make.
Staff didn't offer us the services they actually HAVE in their hotel: fitness, sauna, restaurant etc. No interest in informing client about pluses of the hotel they are working for. Staff had long meaningless conversations while I was standing behind the desk and waited for them, hoping they notice there was a client with an issue waiting them.
I really hoped that check-out will be better than awful check-in we experienced here. But in the morning of our check-out the chambermaid opened our door with her key at 9:00 without any advance notice. She left immediately because we still slept. But she continued to do the same every 30 minutes. The last time she rushed into our room at 10:30 I was walking naked to the bathroom. It was extremely unprofessional.
On Friday evening I left 2 euros coin on the table. After chambermaid "cleaned" our room (actually just changed towels) the 2 euros coin were missing. We didn't find it on a table any more.
When we arrived to the reception to check-out we were ready to pay for the breakfast we took one morning. I asked about price for the breakfast in advance my e-mail. Julia Rühl (responsible for reservations) answered me by e-mail clearly that the breakfast is 10 euros per person per day. OK!
The guys on a reception asked 17 euros for each breakfast. So, it means 34 euros for 2 persons. I was forced to open my laptop and show them an e-mail with a real price. They changed their opinion in a second and sold me my breakfasts with a correct price. I felt myself cheated.
Short summary: yes - nice building, good location and comfortable and clean rooms. That's it. All other - staff, attitude, services are extremely bad and unprofessional.
I would suggest this hotel to fire all the personal and find new people. Teach them about hospitality and modern service techniques.

Slight mix up booking through hotels.com, but once that was sorted everything was perfect. Will happily stay here next time I'm in Berlin!

Friendly staff in a nice and perfectly located hotel. Unfortunately the blinds didn't close entirely and the shower head was broken

    Nice location.
    High class hotel.
    Good personal.
But the light in the room was a little bit weak.
    But we were very pleased.
