The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and half the hotel has the new rooms and the other half had rooms out of the 70s.
First night we were given a room in the 70s section. As one can imagine this was not what we signed up for after seeing the pictures online of the new rooms. The WiFi also didn't work. Which we needed to make further travel arrangements. The nightshirt receptionist was anything but friendly and told us to speak to the manager the next morning.
We were fortunately greeted by a friendlier receptionist who apologised and give us a room in the new section. After that night it was perfect. Breakfast was delicious and room great. Just find out which rooms are available before booking.

Avoid I wish there was an option of 0 stars. AVOID rancid worst hotel ever stayed in and stupidly expensive .. stayed in better hostels

This is an expensive hotel for what it is

Small hotel and very basic.

Had to stay here last minute and TBH honest it's OK for what it is, however, expensive.

Breakfast is continental and passable

Nothing like the photos, overpriced, dirty, you have to walk through a kitchen and smell of garbage to get to an old small elevator, breakfast is so limited they didnt even have water, tv doesn’t work, no phone in room, by far the worst hotel ive ever stayed in.

Decent and cozy hotel. Showers aren't great, hard to get at a good temperature and has bad pressure. Rooms arent too big but good enough for a week here in Cologne.

Das Hotel war echt toll, freundliches Personal nur leider war das Zimmer für 2 Personen sehr klein und der Frühstücksbereich war komplett belegt und mussten deshalb woanders Frühstücken. Ansonsten kann ich das Hotel weiterempfehlen😀!

The location was great, a five minute walk from the train station, and not even ten minute walk to the cathedral. Free internet was provided, and the amenities were newly updated.

The place stinks. Beds are awful. Rooms are very small. Breakfast is terrible.

So far so lovely. A few points: matress is very soft and the blankets are very light so you may need to request harder/thicker as desired.
