I could never express in words how awful this place was and I hope to ever experience this again. As a RN in the UK I was appalled, with the lack of care and just simple manners. I attended with my dad who was unstable, no monitoring attached, we were told they don’t have a heart monitor, we were shouted at by three different members of staff when we approached to inform them that my father felt unwell, wait for the dr or a shrug is all that was communicated. Meanwhile all members of staff were sat in a room watching tv laughing joking on their phones. There was blood up the walls on the floor and curtains. They put oxygen on my dad initially then immediately took it off as they had the wrong patient. He was then put in the corridor where no one could observe him, no initial observations were carried out anyway. Another gentleman came in with clearly a fractured leg he was next on the corridor, rolling in pain. Other patients would ask if results were back they would shout back ‘if you don’t like my answer ask someone else’, she then laughed to a colleague and pointed. I genuinely feared for my dads safety and could never have trusted anything they gave him. We managed to sort insurance to get to a private hospital and I would advice anyone to ensure they have good insurance to enable them to do this. Avoid this place at all costs.

Acute Tendonitis and unable to walk
Seen, x-rayed, backslab plaster and med script in just over 2 hours.
Doctors great and the medical nurse on duty swift. Bit of a queue but they were getting through it well.
Huge thanks for today.
The hospital is aging and the money is tight, but the
x-ray equipment and room was spotless and right up to date.
Excellent public healthcare on a budget today done well.

The most disgraceful experience I have ever been through. I took my mother of nearly 80yrs old to ane because she didn't feel right and her legs and stomach was swollen. They left her in the a&e waiting room for almost 8 hours waiting to see a Dr. And when Dr savvithes finally got to see her was rude abrupt and shouting at her. Saying 'your full of cancer what r u doing here'. There is nothing we can do with you!'.just by looking at her. No Proper diagnostic had been made. The police man on duty at the time saw how upset I was and gave me the complaints dept Tel no. To make a complaint about him. I was distraught. Hope he gets laid off not fit to work with humans or any other breathing souls.

Good God it was awful. It's like walking into a disused and abandoned mental asylum. My contact lens had split in my eye and I couldn't get it out. Before I even gave them my name, they wanted 10 euros from me. I was ordered to stand in a cubicle while a nurse took my blood pressure. I was then ordered to go into a room where they did operations. The walls were filthy, bins overflowing, it was more like a store cupboard. The doctor prised my eye open with his fingers (No gloves nor did he wash his hands) and stated there was nothing there!! He gave me saline solution and antibiotics and I was told to leave. They were so unprofessional and rude. I got back to my apartment and eventually managed to get some of the lens out by myself. My eye feels bruised and sore. I'm not soft but I never ever want to experience that again. I just want to go home now and get it checked out properly.

Awful hospital, passed from pillar to post to different departments. Then told to come back in four days. If you’re needing medical advice fairly urgent I would avoid using this hospital and use one the private ones like I did, then claim the cost back from your insurance company. The EHI card doesn’t make a jot of difference when attending this general hospital, avoid at all costs. It will waste your time and patience.

I can say with all honesty this is the worst hospital I have had the misfortune to have had to go to.
My partner Dawn had double pneumonia which was diagnosed last Wednesday.
She was moved upstairs to the ICU ward which happened to be a good start but they forgot to tell me they moved her.
In the ICU ward getting any information as to what was wrong with dawn was hard work, the nurses won’t tell you anything only a doctor would. Eventually a doctor told me that she had Bi-lateral pneumonia, which meant she had to be on oxygen continuously. This part of the hospital stay was acceptable.
Unfortunately she was moved on Friday morning to the cardiology ward !!! and put in a room that was more like an en suite bus shelter; the bins hadn’t been emptied from the previous occupant, the shower and toilet were disgusting, and the room itself was very very basic, no pillows on the bed, nothing about the equipment or emergency buzzer explained. As my partner is totally deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other things were difficult for her.
She was supposed to be on oxygen 24/7 , but when they replaced her oxygen with a nebuliser and it ran out no one appeared to reconnect the oxygen, the staff were more interested in sitting in the mess room.
Today I decided to move my partner out of the hospital because of the negligent way they cared for her.
When I asked for a doctor to check her to see if we could me her and find out about her conditions, he explained that he’d told her everything the day before, I explained as well as being very ill she also has deafness problems. He started to scream at Dawn saying “ can you hear me, can you hear me “ at this I stood up and said to him “ you cheeky bastard” you can’t talk to her like that, at this point he grabbed hold of me and wanted to punch me, he was restrained by other members of staff. I said that I was going to make a complaint.
Fifteen mins later two police arrived, the doctor had complained about me. It was a no win situation, the doctors colleagues were complicit in their silence.
This doctor is a disgrace to the profession, as are the other nurses and doctor who look the other way.
Only use this hospital if you are desperate.
I’ve moved Dawn to The Blue Cross private hospital to enable her to be cured.
The Paphos general cardiology ward is in my opinion worse than 3rd world and staffed by uncaring, incompetent staff, the level of cleanliness is disgusting. If Dawn was to stay there I’m sure you would have become much worse.
Use it at your own peril.

My partner had a pain in the low stomach area, we signed for general doctor (pathologos) and the hole procedure lasted 2 minutes. we was send to "doctor" Marina plus the fact the door was locked from inside 12:45 what she told us was nothing like coming out of the mouth of a doctor: It is too late and why you did not come earlier, i do not know what is the reason of pain, you should go to the Emergencies. All that was spoken in English and fee paid 3 euros. When we went to the reception straight away i was asked to go back to the office and collect the papers by the reason to visit another doctor. All that seemed completely unfair and out of the normal doctor - patient behaviour. Than she passed next to us at the front desk and she said that it has been misunderstanding because of our poor Greek language, very very arrogant, as whatever was spoken in the office was in English, how you dare you little fat lying imp!!!! Offcourse her version was the trusted one and the one with priority. All theese complex suffering " doctors" need to be taken seriously from the one in charge if such sort of person exist in the General Hospital Paphos. These lazy people should realise that our medical is not won on the lottery or given as a Christmas present, WE WORKED FOR THAT, nothing is free! People with personal problems, hating their job should not be involved and working for the government. Honestly that was my worst expierience in this Hospital these people are complete joke Big Time.

besides all that my highly respect to the 4th floor stuff one of a kind, probably the only unit here experienced in what are they doing!

To be fair there are excellent and very qualified doctors working in this hospital.
But, Too much noise, you have to wait up to tow hours to see the doctor even if you have appointment! The building needs repairs from inside out! Bathrooms are disgusting. Finding another hospital is adviced!

Literally feared for my safety in the General Hospital. Went in with stomach pains and came out a lot worse. The incompetence of the medical staff caused me 2 infections within the first few hours, then I was abandoned for the rest of the day. No explanation about anything, no concern for my complaints (though they clearly knew they messed up procedure and infected me, and no food. Eventually I struggled down to the Cafeteria where I bought croissant which turned out mouldy. After complaining to the staff, a nurse said she would bring me something to eat. She arrived with a bowl full of something I was allergic to, which was clearly stated several times and was in my paper work. Fearing for my safety, I discharged myself and went to a private clinic to repair the damage the General Hospital staff had done. I will now be off work for at least 4 weeks to recover from their incompetence. A nice 617 euros bill from them just put the icing on the cake. Disgraceful.

The majority of staff are among the best ( BRAVO ). On the bad side, today I spent 4 hours trying to phone and make an appointment with the cardiologist for my daughter but nobody could be bothered to answer the phone. The lady who deals with complaints gave me the answer what can I do, then hung up the phone.

Жуткая клиника, по типу наших бесплатных поликлиник, только в данной клинике ещё и деньги за заведение карты берут. Врачи грязные, в осмотровых кабинках полная антисанитария. Больше похоже не на больницу, а на полевой госпиталь. Вылечить вряд ли вылечат, а вот подхватить доп. заболевание в очереди, вполне возможно. Отдельно стоит отметить, что добраться до данного учреждения можно только на такси. Население в городе не большое, но работает персонал медленно, спешить им не куда, они на работе, а не на пожаре.

This is to the Orthopedic Department at the General Hospital in Paphos, you are a disgrace to the Health Profession. My mother is a retired Nurse, and you treated her like an animal. You are DISGUSTING to say the least. She came to you with a broken wrist, a very bad injury we were told. You decide to reduce it, with no form of analgesia, just a local anesthetic. Then you plaster it, all wrong, and left her in agony, over and over again. You took the plaster off and then say 3 weeks later, probably needs pin and plating, again you left her another week in agony. She has thankfully gone back home, the A&E department disgusted at what you have done to her. It now has to be broken again, pinned and plated in two places, not one, but two, it is an extremely bad break, and you just left it. I will be complaining to the Cypriot Health Ministry, that department needs seriously looking at, I have never seen anything like it in my life, disgusting, rude, horrible people that call themselves Health professions. If I could give it zero stars I would.

I was assaulted by a group, when the ambulance came they refused to take me (cause they said I had a too little injury.
I went to Hospital with other means.
I had five stitches on my face and several other injuries.
Afterwards I asked for a report for intervention. They said the report was not found and I am not able to get it. Probably Police took it and didn't bring it back I am said.
