As a place it is absolutely beautiful, unique, inspiring and relaxing. Its positives include beautiful gardens with inspiring quotes, great prices, very clean rooms, peaceful environment, great location opposite the sea and close to local restaurants, breakfast place has out of this world views. The negatives people at spa for some weird reason were very rude to us and they are abit weird at the bar (cant give change when you pay, or were missing). But generally its a fantastic summery place and I would definetely go again there!
I had planned to stay 4 nights but only stayed 1 and that’s because I was too tired to find somewhere else that 1st night. I was there the 1st of May. None of the pools were filled and they said it’s because they don’t fill them until the end of May when it’s warmer, but it’s not listed anywhere on the website that the pools would be empty. I was looking forward to swimming and sitting by the pool most days so this was a big disappointment. Then, I couldn’t access wifi or get a workable phone signal from our room- not a huge deal if you’re planning to detox from your phone while there, but a big deal for me as I was traveling alone and felt a little uneasy. Finally my door to my apartment wouldn’t stay locked when the handle was jiggled. What sealed the deal was dirty water coming from the supposed filtered water faucet, noisy neighbors on either side and above me, on top of loud construction/lawn maintenance sounds right in front of my room as they were preparing the grounds for the upcoming busy summer season. Also, my room had such a strong chemical/perfume smell after they cleaned it that I couldn’t sleep-in my experience, usually Eco hotels are more interested in using chemical free cleaning solutions. In my opinion, if you’re paying this much, the property should be prepared for guests before opening their doors- aka the grounds should be mowed, all construction and updates complete and at least 1 pool filled. Maybe only stay here during June-August when it’s ready for guests.
Positives: the room is spacious and was very clean. They upgraded me to a pool-side sea view for free. There’s an automatic hot water kettle and mini fridge with counter space to make food. The bathroom has a tub which is convenient for children. There were 2 sunning chairs outside our room. They were willing to offer me gluten and dairy free options but I didn’t visit the restaurant to know what that would have been like. *The owners were VERY gracious, kind, gentle and understanding- this is why I gave it 2 stars and am willing to suggest that maybe guests stay during the busy summer season.*
there are lots of nice things but also but things. very nice location, nice pool, nice breakfast, nice rooms, but not good wifi, not good cleaning and you get the filling that the people work their, are like working for the goverment.
Spacious Room with nice view, great and big swimming pool, but wifi perception on rooms was terrible.
We were quite shocked to find this hotel was not the 4 star our travel agent sold us.
No mention that this hotel was nor suitable for disabled people as it is built in a 1/8 hill.
We did not expect a four star hotel to have no wifi except in reception no phone like from room to reception. Only one channel on TV in English
Twice no hot water, shower broken, toilet seat broken and had to request balcony and entrance to be cleaned. Admittedly after reporting this was repaired straight away and the gym was laughable..
Good side the staff were friendly and helpful.
Lovely place. If you have choice to stay here please do. Calm, quiet, peaceful.
Only passing through so we had a couple of drinks, but will say nice place and extremely nice staff with a pleasant welcome and gets our 5 🌟 approval.
We went there off season and therefor the staff was very laid back and "zen", its a neat place with very fine and clean rooms and we enjoyed the good breakfast on the sunny and large balcony of the restaurant, yet the staff wasnt very helpful concerning information about the area or much else for that matter, they seemed to be a bit overchallenged even with small things. No matter what you needed (whether it was turning on the sauna, a frensh press ()), we had to ask Two, three times for it and ended up handling it ourselves. We didnt mind and had a fantastic time at the zening resort, yet our experience was to not expect too much from the staff. The resort is located in a 5 minutes walking distance to the beach and harbor and also busses to Aphrodite s Bath (hiking) and Polis stop right in front of the resort, which was very convenient. Yiannis little Imbiss right next to the resort is a good stop for yummi halloumi sandwiches.
What an awesome place to mend your heart and heal your soul!!
Плохая уборка номеров. Китайская обслуга только делает вид что убирает. В номере поймали огромного таракана. Рядом с отелем стройка. Забивают сваи. Очень шумно. Из плюсов: хорошие преподаватели по йоге, и рядом чистое море.
Zening is AWESOME. The location is beautiful. The accommodation is relaxing. The staff are amazing. The other guests were sweet (although Zening cannot control this factor). The yoga and meditation teachers are friendly, open and lovely.
I was only there for a week but it felt like I'd been there for much longer. I felt genuinely sad after leaving. When I arrived back in the UK, everything seemed so big and busy.
If you are vegetarian or vegan, it is a great place to stay. If you're looking for a break away from this stresses of your current world, it is a slice of heaven on earth. Be a witness and make it a part of your journey.
Just what I had expected, friendly helpful staff, no cars, no smoking, no cell phones. The pool was beautiful and quiet, the room was clean and housekeeping came daily to do an amazing job. The room looked quite new and the AC and shower were so powerful.
The entire resort is well planed out, green and tranquil, with lots of classes to take every day.
Very professional staff - the meditation instructor was very good.
They allowed us a late checkout until 3pm
Very close to the beach, the marina which has great fish restaurants, boat tours and water-sport options - as well as mini marts and other useful shops. Polis is just a few kilometers down the road, as are the Baths of Aphrodite.
Negatives: the breakfast wasnt as "healthy" as it could have been. Limited choice, almost identical menu each morning - I found that some of the tea cups werent clean from tea stains and rings.
The steep hill to our apt was quite a killer in the midday sun, but the scenery was beautiful.
The "juice bar" by the pool needs to update the menu - most fresh juices and smoothies werent in stock - they should have a seasonal menu, instead of letting us go down the list, only to have them say, no sorry 5 times before we reach what IS in stock.
Overall we loved our stay there, and would love to revisit again next summer!
