Not a resort for you if you expect high class experiences. We have been here twice now, with young kids, and we have enjoyed it. Will go back. It has several pools that flow into each other, along with one in the kids club area. Friendly staff, felt very safe here. Not Americanized, so not the comforts of home, but if that is what you are looking for, stay home! Depending where your room is, there can be lots of walking - I personally didn't mind the walking, but lots of stairs (for those with mobility issues).

Great resort beautiful place. Food not so great but the people there are really nice.
I would go back just for the facility but I would advise to be sure to bring yourself some spices and you favourite sauces. Helps the experience!response / report this review -

Was my first visit to Cuba and I went with d
Fairly low expectations but was blown away by the friendly nice of the not only the staff but by locals that we met. I was told ahead of time that the food would be very bland and not overly good, well I would never say that after eating at Memories. I left every meal completely satisfied.
The resort is spread out so there is a good amount of walking to burn off the beverages.
My biggest down fall would be the beach there is a lot of vegetation in the water so I recommend water shoes. It's not typical weeds like we have in our lake here that can grow quite tall or graze your legs but this was short vegetation that could be a little hard on the bottom of feet. Other then that I had a great time. I was there in early November and the resort was not busy at all which I prefer.

Great hotel with excelent service. However true Cuba is truly different. Memories resort would be much appreciated by families with children and All exclusive fan's. Highly recommended.

Beautiful resort. Situated in a hill with lots of natural trees. The view is magnificent. A lot of people complain about insects biting. Staffs are friendly. The facility is out dated. Definitely needs renovations. Beach is good, food is so so.

I’m giving the hotel 3 stars because the place itself is beautiful but the staff is horrible. As soon as I arrived at the front desk the girl ask r me if I have a second passport to enter the country since mine is American. I was surprised she thought I was Cuban because of my skin color and I told her, No I’m from New York, born and raised. For some reason she thought I had to have green eyes and white skin to be American lol. After we told her I’m not Cuban she didn’t even care to tell us where our room was which was almost 2 miles away because the place is huge. We had to walk back to the front desk with my one year old who was already tired and then she said we left 🙄. We called the manager and he apologized and got us a cart to take us to our room. He offered a bottle of champagne for the misunderstanding and it was a nice gesture from him. The rooms were clean and there was hot water and a safe and fridge. The room was really bad and no matter what you got or ordered was awful. The hotel has the potential to be a 5 star hotel, but with the staff it’s hard to rate it any more than 3.

Going down hill. Food selection wasn't good, not well prepared. Maintenance of the resort is questionable. Seems the staff has gotten used to tipping. Real shame. Was here years ago and really enjoyed it. Now I can't wait to go home.

Love the Hotel and service. I went on 2016 and everything was spotless. The food was good a good variety from seafood to meat, veggies. Next year will be going again 👌🏼

It was my first time at an all inclusive resort and I didn't want to leave! Memories Holguin Resort was an amazing resort. I was thrown off by all the negative reviews because many people say such bad things, but it was amazing. The food was great, people have really high standards Please remember you are going to Cuba. The entertainment staff made me feel really welcome and inclusive, they were amazing! The resort itself is beautiful, with a newly renovated lobby. I wouldn't have changed anything about my trip, except for the fact that I had to leave. I will be returning very soon!

Definitely not a place to go very poor knowledge about how to treat costumers, ac not working , poor menu on buffet, only one option, snack bar only serve you burgers and hot dogs and they are charging you like a all inclusive resort , i don`t know how the hotel has 4 Star they should be a motel very bad experience DON`T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE.

Excellent staff. Lovely people. Poorly managed but the staff try hard. A criminal element is noticeable here. (Prostitution) That is no Bueno. Embarrassing to me as a Canadian to think our citizens would ever want to take advantage of a struggling people. Cast a pall on my time there. Otherwise the most beautiful country you will ever see. If you're Canadian 😇

It's a nice quiet resort with good staff. Rooms could use improvements but are clean and bug free. The beach is beautiful and there pools are great too. Especially the pool bar where Geovanys is a master of drinks and bottle juggling.

We stayed there from March 21-28, 2017, and we thoroughly enjoyed every single minute. Our room was fantastic. The food, staff, grounds, pools, entertainment and beach were all awesome. We met some wonderful people there, and we look forward to going back in 2018!

We just got back from Memories, the problem is we booked the economy rooms, told they were a little farther away, so thought no problem. Well what a dump, no hot water, safe not working, cold in room had to turn air off. No light in showers, phone didn't work. The televisions were horrid, nice to watch when you come back. We complained right away there were three rooms booked, my daughter went to sun wing after complaining at front desk. They were no help go to your representatives at Sun Wing first, he was very helpful , this was Saturday Said we would be moved on Monday . We were thank goodness it was very depressing. The rooms we got were great , what a difference so pleased, felt like we went from slums to upper class. So do not!!! go for the economy., it's just horrid and should be condemned. Oh yeah we had quite a bit of rain, can't be helped , but we saw people with umbrellas not in those rooms, guess if you have economy you don't need them. But sure enough when we moved there were umbrellas in the room. Afterwards it was so much better, but what a way to start our vacation.

We went there for 2 weeks middle of September. Awesome place, a lot of pools, very close to the ocean. Service was good, variety of different meat, salads and vegetables. But wasn't enough fruits. Really very beautiful place for vacation.

For June 2016 -- Amazing vacation. Food was decent. Staff were terrific. Bugs/cats here and there but overall, great place for family and friends.
