During our stay in Trinidad we visited this restaurant probably around 5 times. Situated next to our casa, the food portions are huge and varied, drinks are good, and there’s fantastic live music every night. The interior is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is wonderful. Definitely a MUST-GO if you visit Trinidad (there’s always a waiting line at 7-8 pm so try to have an early or late dinner).

Great food and good cocktails. Some of the seating is a little cramped and awkward, but there is a nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful, and most speak some English

The restaurant is indeed quirky. Food is average, the deco of slavery containment on the walls is disturbing to say the least. The clientele is mainly composed by fake trotters lonely planet readers all very trendy however the thing that annoyed me the most is the fact that in such a small place they allow people to smoke at the table was definitively an experience not to rapeated. Overrated and out of step with the times.

I know this restaurant is famous and advertised in lonely planet. But there are instruments of slavery as decoration at the walls, which I find very very sad.
There was even an African Cuban, who said he won't go in there because of this fact.

When we walked by we saw that and found it even worse that there are African Cubans working in there.

The manager maybe should rethink this. It was a very dark episode of humanity and shouldn't be presented like decoration.

Good food, acceptable prices (comparing to other restos in neighborhood). Popularity makes you stay in the line to get in, though..

The best meal we ate in Cuba. Try schrimps or beef served in a pineapple 8-9 CUCs. Also if you order one of the main dishes they bring you some bread as a started and rum in the end. We returned three times and I can only recommend this place. Come around 5-6 to avoid the queue (looking for a place to eat after 7 is crazy in the whole Trinidad)

Prepare to queue for an hour! It's worth it! Best food we ate in Cuba. Lovely, quirky place, very friendly service and delicious food. We ate here a few times and I would definitely go back there. I can only recommend it.

Nice place to grab a bite and some drinks, food is cheap and good but not great. Super friendly staff, be prepared to wait in line if you'll go there after 7pm. Compared to other places that I've eat in Trinidad this is by far #1.

Food is goof to eat and the rum is for lives !!!
Ask the staff to check when there is a show in the restaurant. This place brings people more fun and you can feel the local culture.

    強力推薦來這個地方,有Happy hour,這個時候暢快地喝飲料,非常享受。

We walked into La Botija at noon, avoiding hot weather and taking a break. The restaurant is quite nice and relaxing. The cocktails are quite nice, but avoid ones created by themselves. They offer food since 1pm. We decided to come back at night, and surprisingly noticed there was a long queue outside. La Botija actually is featured on Lonely Planet.

Ottimo cibo, finalmente non il solito pollo fritto e riso, servizio veloce e CORDIALE (molto raro a cuba).

Good food, finally not the same chicken and rice! You have a good variety of stuff with affordable price. The service was very quick and people with smile (very rare in cuba, usually people are quite rude)

we didn't have to wait too long to be seated, however we were lucky because there is always a big line of people waiting to get in. Food was delicious, and they have a many different things to choose from. Price wise it's super affordable compared to other paladares that i went. The way the serve the dish is beautiful, they use fruit to decorate the plate, so you have the option to eat it if you like it, if not you can appreciate the mix of the colors when they bring the food to the table. the staff in general is kind and friendly. loved the place.

Food in Cuba seems bad and overpriced. From that perspective, this place is great. Excellent bar food delivered very well and cheap. For Cuba.

A little overrated considering the wait we endured. The service was incredibly slow and nothing was great. Stay away from the plantain/chicharon balls, they were very underwhelming. The house specialty sandwich although very large was nothing to write home about.

This restaurant is kind of interesting. It has a slave trade scene and there are lots of artifacts from the slave trade and antiques on all the walls. They play funky jazz music at night. It is a jack-of-all-trades restaurant that has all types of American food. Unfortunately not very much of the food is good. Stick to grilled Meats stay away from things like pizza which are awful. They have a good wine selection for Cuba
