Very friendly, great food, great value with a relaxed atmosphere. It is the perfect place if on a budget and Marc was incredibly helpful prior to our visit to Costa Rica. He made us feel completely at home. Great start to our adventure.

The place was dirty and the breakfast was poor. We even didn't had any soap or toilet paper in the room. Luckily we only spend one night there. The best times of this restaurant are gone.

But the owner is friendly, but that's the only positive thing.

The cleaning was not that good, the sheets and room smelled bad. Besides the price was reasonable and Marisol is really helpful. The place is a good area for bird watcher in my case I could see many and beautiful birds. It is pretty close to downtown and the airport. I recommend.

Excellent service but rooms are quite small and not super comfortable (very humid). You are also far from Alajuela center (if you don't have a car).

Nice House with a lovely garden and super nice staff. Especially Marc is super nice. Some of the rooms are super spacious and feature a balcony. Good value for money.Super close to the airport - makes it a good stay for first and last night. The nice little town of Alajuela offers everything you need.

Excellent place to stay if you want to discover san Jose or Volcan Poas region! The house is really cozy with its garden and terrace. The restaurant is also a good option to have diner (really good burritos)! Working people are really nice and available to give you all informations, you feel welcomed at their place!
    Definitly I recommend it!

This little "b&b" is a outside Alajuela, about a $15 cab ride or $7-8 Uber ride to the airport. The cost is low, but so are the amenities and general access to activities unless you have car. There are no restaurants near-by, so be prepared to call a taxi or use Uber if you have it. We spent about $20 in Uber rides going downtown and up to Doka Coffee Estate. If you're cabbing/ubering, be prepared to wait a while the farther north you get from Alajuela. The room was ok, but found ants on the very thin pillows due to an open window. Beds were stiff, but suitable, but we didn't sleep very well due to some crazy winds and the relatively uncomfortable bed/pillow situation. If you need a place for one night, you could consider this but I've stayed in more comfortable/cheaper hostels. Don't expect much for breakfast (toast and a few slices of fruit). The host was very nice, but didn't speak much English (if that matters to you), and wasn't always available when we needed something, but lives above the check-in area.

It's very convenient to the airport. The host will coordinate rental cars and such. With delivery! There's an on-site restaurant and lots of outdoor common area. It's also very secure.

Great Time in Villa Pacandé for our last day in Costa Rica
It's close to the airport and not in San José
