I got so much help from Shannon, I still can hardly believe it. Ideal location in Santa Elena. Try Taco Taco, their expanded restaurant!

Cozy and clean, we stayed in a private double room. The breakfast was nice and the location very convenient, but what set our experience a part from others we visited is the truly phenomenal service you get from the staff! They helped with everything beginning to end.

Mix of double private rooms and dorms. Friendly staff, good for local info & organising trips. Good location, handy for everything, bus, shops, food. And the Taco restaurant they recommend is really good!

Warm friendly welcome from Stefanie and Anna and super quick check-in. Lots of tour options from the hostel and the FREE Taco Taco breakfast is great! Given that lots of people are there hiking in the rain, I think some drying rooms might be a good investment for the future.

Very nice hostel in downtown Santa Elena. The staff is very nice and helpful, they have discount and can help book activities. The hostel is in walking distance of several restaurants or sodas and close to the bus stations. Rooms are nice clean and cheap. Breakfast is included.

We loved this place. We took a private room with a bathroom. It was big and clean. There's a nice common kitchen. The hosts are very kind and helpful. The free coffee they serve all day long is very great :) There was so much beautiful things to see in Monteverde and this place was the coolest hostel we went during our trip around Costa Rica. PS: Take a small 20min walk to "Ficus Tree Climbing (On Google Maps)" it's awesome!

The rooms seem to have vastly different quality. For 30 USD we feel we overpaid. We reserved a double room with a shared bathroom and got put into an old windowless room, which was basic, but the sheets were of very hard coarse fabric (fabric not for sheets but maybe suits) so it kind of gave the feeling of carpet burn when I turned. I was not happy with the discomfort. The sheets were also brown, so cleanliness is hard to judge. We could hear all the noise and music from the reception starting 7AM. Breakfast is simple, but not very good. Coffee all day is nice. Most of the staff was nice. The cats and dog are cool. For some reason card payment did not work. We know our cards are fine as we used them just 1 h earlier.

We stayed here for three nights. The staff was and is off scale helpful and friendly. They give advice help with reservations and help with the standard traveler problems. They location is perfect for enjoying Santa Elena and monteverde with easy transport everywhere. Breakfast is well done and plenty. There's always coffee available for free and the Wifi, though spotty is sufficient.

The kitchen is a bit small for the number of people who stay and the single fridge is not very cold. It was also very full and yet when we were there the pension was not even half full.

The big negative is that the walls are thin and Santa Elena is a bit of a party town sometimes. The howling yo-bros keep you up until midnight. Shortly thereafter the much more work focused roosters take over. Ear plugs help. Nevertheless days are full of activities so sleep came.

The service was very good, the staff was always happy to help and had all the info for the activities that we wanted to do. They not only called for info but also provided us with a map. The place is very well located, if you want to park I recommend you to get early since the spots are very limited.

Would totally go back, but I would invest more in a bigger room.

Such a cozy comfortable environment! Every member of the staff was so kind and helpful. Greg really went above and beyond to help us and recommend the best place to go. Breakfast is really good and *free* for guests. Overall, a worth-while stay.

Very helpful and friendly hosts, they will organize everything what you want for you, and you get the best guides, and maybe even discounts. Breakfast is included and you get it from the Taco Taco fast food restaurant next door which is quite nice. You can get free coffee all the time. The place itself is very nice and also all the other guests are very nice and friendly.

The staff here is absolutely unreal! They are so laid back, friendly and incredibly helpful when it comes to booking tours or if you have any questions. Rooms were comfy and clean, yard it large and well kept.
They have a sister business next door called Taco Taco which is delicious and gives all hostel guests a 10% discount as well as free breakfast in the morning (your choice of breakfast tacos and fruit or granola, fruit and toast).
Perfect location right in the centre of town, next to a bus stop.
Less of a party hostel and more geared towards couples and families but met a lot of great people.
Highly recommend this hostel to anyone!

Best hostel ever! Cheap rooms, good tacos included for breakfast, and the staff was AMAZING. They were 100% dedicated to helping everyone have a great time, and they helped us book some amazing excursions. Location was perfect. My one comment was to have thicker curtains--in our room reading at night I felt like people could see in the room. The common areas were cozy and we had a GREAT TIME here--would totally go back!

This was the best hostel I've stayed in. It is well located - just off the main road so it's quieter at night but still very central to everything. During the day, the patio and taco restaurant draws people in, so it becomes a good meeting point. The front desk were incredible - they planned everything for me and took care of all reservations, even for friends who were staying in a different hostel. I would just mention an idea and come back later in the day and find it booked. I stayed in a private room and it was a good size, had hot water, towels provided. Most importantly, it was spotless. I walked in and it smelled like it was freshly disinfected.
