Great place to stay. One of the original hotels in the area that gets you the feel of being away and still close to everything. Awesome forest trails on the property.

This place is our little paradise. We had a fantastic time in the Cloud Forest Lodge. (June 2017). This location is unique, because it is in the middle of the cloud forest. A lot of hummingbirds, agutis and monkeys around. We loved every minute of our time there.
The service is friendly and helpful. The food is execellent and the lodges are very clean and quiet. We will come back!

Great way to see local wildlife, there are lots of birds, agouti and coati that come right up. Rooms are spacious but basic. Towels are washed but stained and thin. Food is awful. Cocktails good though.

What a beautiful location! We were very happy with our choice of accommodation in Sainte Elaina. Even before we arrived our shuttle driver said that it was a great spot to see birds, and he wasnt wrong.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms were huge and included a veranda and seat so you could sit and watch the wildlife. There are bird feeders located around the Lodge which are regularly topped up so you can regularly see a variety of birds enjoying a banana, as well as the family of coati that live on site.

The lodge has a number of trails you can walk - none of them are too tough if you are able bodied and have average fitness.

The restaurant on site was on a par with the food in town, and there is also a bar if your preference is to birdwatch over a beer.

The night tour was a bit of a miss - the guide was very knowledgeable but we didn't get to see a lot (this was our second night tour that wasn't great so will probably be our last).

We also did the original canopy tour that is onsite - this was the first one in the world and a couple of the lines have you zipping past the Lodge.

We didn't have a car and it wasn't a problem - on a dry day we walked to Sainte Elaina in c half an hour, but taxied back (because it's uphill) for $US6. It was $US16 to the cloud forest reserve.

We had three nights in the lodge and were a little sad we couldn't stay longer.

Beautiful grounds, well maintained trails. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The food is good but the hummingbird feeders outside the dining room are the BEST!

A great place to stay. Generally eco friendly, although surprised to find throw away plastic shower soaps and glasses in plastic bags.
Fantastic veranda with hummingbird feeders. Also good walking trails through secondary cloud forest and zip wires over the hotel.
Food rather expensive and disappointing, hence 4* rather than 5 for this review. But would thoroughly recommend.

Great location, nice view and service. Nature trails and availability to the local town and attractions are worth every minute. The weather is always nice you don't need a fan in your room.

Lovely lodge. Spacious. Nice terrace with chairs. Shower gel etc provided. Also coffee. Breakfast choice from a menu. Breakfast is huge. Coffee excellent. Granola gorgeous. Evening meal beautiful and not over priced. Beer 3 dollars a bottle. Lots of hummingbirds Capuchins mot mot birds. Quite chilly bring a fleece. Isolated so eat in the hotel you won't be disappointed. Enjoyed our stay.

Nice rooms, lovely location, great hiking trails around property. Menu is limited and very American-focused (heavy on American fare, few traditional choices), but staff is friendly and generous. Would stay again.

Stayed at this lodge for 2 nights, loved the fact that there is no television in the room. They do have wifi. The rooms are rustic looking and kind of classy in its own way. Very clean and well maintained. The rooms were good size and has a beautiful patio with chairs that are absolutely enjoyable. The space outside the rooms are very good for kids to run around and play. This is right in the middle of the cloud forest with a couple of good trails. The breakfast was excellent. The service was very good. On the day one the lady in the reception was not in a good mood. But overall the experience was very good. The restaurant is decent enough with good food and drinks. They did bring the food to the room when needed.
