Pato’s is awesome! Our surf instructor did a great job of making me feel confident and ready to learn more - plus we had a great time! The lesson comes with a free board rental for five days, which is an amazing deal! This is a great place to learn.

My girlfriend and I did a surf lesson with Martin at Pato's. This was my first time surfing and my girlfriend had surfed in a few different countries. We were both very impressed with the lesson and the amount of detail. Martin was entertaining but professional at the same time. Ask for the instructor Martin :) The price was $40 each for a private 2 person lesson. This includes a 5 day rental to practice your surf skills! We thought it was well worth the price. We also found that they had a good variety of boards.

Family owned. Pato is really friendly and they have great staff and great prices. Right next to locamda restaurant which has chairs for the family to have drinks
And lay out on while you surf.

Rented boogie boards for $2 an hour per person. We could only spend an hour out at a time because we are American and pale and burn easily. Great prices and some places on nearby playa Carrillo make you rent all day. I couldn't be out all day of I wanted to. Friendly staff!

All the guys here are friendly and well trained, so if you're looking for a lesson then I would highly recommend them. The prices are competitive and the freshwater shower afterwards is an awesome bonus. The best school I've surfed with in Costa Rica!
