As usual, Im trying my best to give good advice to other travelers, here the thoughts of my last trip to Santa Teresa.

    The area of Santa Teresa.

Very difficult to start describing the area with so many things, like nature, beaches, sunsets and so and so.

The area, itself, in general, is tremendously beautiful and beyond. Nature and green is what you perceive each minute. I wonder how easily we forget to appreciate the fact of clean, pure air.

The Stunning line of coastal trees meeting the ocean and the white sand of Costa Rica’s north pacific…. Just another piece of the puzzle paradise of this 51.100 square kilometers rock.

From a local perspective, you constantly forget to stop, look around but, this time I did.

    My experience at Latitude 10.

A 25 minutes fly brought me here, I waited longer in the cab from my house to the airport.

Once I landed at Tambor, I was expecting to find a sign with my name, but there was nothing, excepts for a friendly local who called my name… How did he know the name I wondered? Then I remember I told the concierge a few details about me. That’s how he finds out. Diego was awesome showing me the places to visit on the way.

After a beautiful 45 minutes drive in a very luxurious car, I got to Latitude 10; the gate didn’t have a sign but I found this green-Oceanfront- paradise.

The Manager Jennifer ( Jenn) welcomed me and took me to the beach for the Sunset. There was no check-in, only a few instructions, like: Do not leave food in your room. Of course, such a place will have wildlife.

She also asked me to look around, enjoy the view and to leave behind the rush, traffic, work and others. 50% of the experience is based on this.

After this little walk ceremony, I went to my room, which is not a room; A Junior Suite just steps away from the Ocean water. My “Casita” has doors but no locks, window but no glass, just the frames and my bathroom is open, so no roof.

Knowing that the area is very safe I decided to sleep with my door wide open. I had no food in the room so Coatis or Raccoons won't come to visit my Casita.

Inside the Casita was extremely cozy, the bed felt so fresh and you can hear the ocean from the bed. I slept from 08:00 PM to 01:00 AM and I woke up completely rested that I had to force myself to sleep again.

Next morning fully charged I got up and went to explore the beach and catch the sunrise. Absolutely worth it. After breakfast, the staff helped me to rent a ATV, and soon I was heading to the unknown. Looking for the waterfall of Montezuma I got lost a few times but the locals helped me, and after those wrong turns I was heading my way.

The road trip was Amazing, beach spots everywhere and places you can swim of surf, or just chill under the wild almond tree shade. Also there is a large array of little restaurants or cafes ( Coffee shops) really delicious and the people were the best.

Of course after a few days here I didn’t want to leave the hotel, I was there for 3 nights only and feels too little, there are many things to do.

Again my driving to the Tambor Airport, Don Jose my driver this time was very kind and of course telling me the story of how has Santa Teresa, or just “ Teresa” changed.

In the end, everything was amazing.

    A few other facts:

    - Yes, is hot but not humid and is so beautiful that it doesn’t even matter. Although at night was really fresh.
    - I didn’t even use the mosquito net and not a single bite.
    - The roads require driving slow there are children playing on the road and dogs laying under the tree shades they find.
    - Bring some cash
    - The hotel provides reusable bottle that you can refill there
    - Surf up.

Everything at Latitude 10 seems to be perfectly thought of. You feel right at home since you set foot on the property. The staff is sweet and welcoming, the design incorporates gorgeous gardens (lush at all times), the food is healthy and local but at the same time delicious! Drinks are lovely and you can even learn how to make cocktails and ceviche - I totally recommend this! OH, and yoga!! Make sure you do the yoga class! The beach is absolutely outstanding, one of the best sunsets I've experienced. And, if you go during low tide to the little tide pools, you can enjoy the warm water and sun bath or simply relax.

Best sunset spot in all of Costa Rica! Such a cool, unique concept. Totally romantic and relaxing but also perfect for surfing and other activities. Perfect location near enough to the centre of chic Santa Teresa, but secluded enough to have the beach all to yourself - paradise!

This is my favorite hotel I've stayed at anywhere in the world. The service was amazing and if your cool with an open air room you can't go wrong. We stayed in the master suit B and it overlooked the beach. Can't say enough how great this place is. It is a little tricky to get there but totally worth it. It was our favorite city in Costa Rica.
