Si the best Hostel in San Pedro Los Yoses! If you are a backpacker is the place to be, if you are a complainer (people that doesn't have enough money for a hotel) please do not come to this place or any other in Costa Rica. Staff is the best and they have the cleanest hostel in the world!

You will have no key, you need to ask the staff everytime to get out the hostel and ring when you come back. They shot the light at 10pm and you not able to hang out in the lobby and drink a beer and have a conversation. The beds are shaking horrible when someone gets out/in the bed and the mattresses are laid down. It's clean.

    “TERRIBLE! Bugs, Loud, Rude, Bad!!!”
I don't want to write "opinions" so I will just list facts.

    1. Room was FULL of Bugs and ants all in the bed, all over the walls and floor. We notified the staff and they accused us that we "must have left food out" even though we had just arrived. They did NOTHING to help or get rid of the bugs.

    2. Super Loud. Open Glass windows let all the noise in from the loud busy street. The owner and staff have a loud dog that barks at 430am and throughout the night. They think it's cute.

    3. The Young girl that works their is very nice and sweet. She was the Only thing we liked about In & Basic Hostel, and she took the time to be a tour guild and give us advice on San Jose travels. The Older larger woman was Extremely RUDE. We we walked in to register the 1st day we said "Hi! Hola How are you?" and she ignored us. I asked if we could get our key and she said "CAN'T You SEE I'm BUSY!!! Go talk to the other girl". and continued playing on her computer. The hostel is clean looking if it didn't have the bugs and rude staff and long list of other problems.

    4. The Towels smelled so we asked for more towels, and they said it's not usually allowed unless it's after 3 days

    5. You have to poop and wipe and put the dirty toilet paper in an OPEN Small Trash can beside you you're NOT ALLOWED to FLUSH Dirty toilet paper into toilet. So it stinks up the entire place.

    6. Our "Private Room" we paid extra for, had a BROKEN DOOR! It Wouldn't Lock. We notified the staff and she locked it and said it's "Fixed". I giggled the door knob and it unlocked instantly and I showed her. She said "well no one here steals so don't worry about it." I asked her to just fix / replace the lock so it would work and she said no, "it works" and just ignored me when I giggled the handle and opened the "Locked" broken door.

    7. NO HOT WATER!!! It was luke warm one day, and the next day No Hot water all day every time I tried.

    8. No MILK with coffee or Cereal. No juice.

    9. WIFI only works downstairs. It wouldn't work in some of the rooms.

    10. Rude staff. All of the other guests we talked to over breakfast complained about the larger older girl and how "Rude" the staff was to them.

So.. No "opinions". just the facts from our Terrible stay there.

THIS HOSTEL is ONLY GOOD is you have NO MONEY and you just need a safe place to stay for 1 night or 2. It's fine for a dirt cheap Quick emergency because it is nice looking and clean (besides the BUGS) and seems SAFE. But if you have more than $20 per night, I would recommend you stay somewhere else without bugs and noise.

I very much enjoyed my stay here! It felt like home and was a very relaxing place to stay in between the rest of my travels in Costa Rica. The staff is super nice and very accomadating. The hostel is in a great area and very quiet at night!
