Attractive, nice gardens, nice staff, separate lodges with privacy, air con, reasonable food. Handy smsll shop. But pools weren't great. 2 had brownish water s and one had a sort of grease film on it.
A well located and well laid out hotel complex that provides spacious accommodation with good views and friendly service. There are a number of attached bars and restaurants here so it's easy just to spend time in the complex but that would be a shame with all that Manuel Antonio has to offer, fortunately the hotel is close to the beach and about a 1 Mike walk to the island. The staff are friendly and there are some great views over the bay. The pool just for adults offers a quiet place to get away if you want, with nice pills for the whole family as well.
Beautiful place with mature tropical grounds. The planes around made it cool and the Anaconda restaurant for breakfast every morning with its views was a great way to start the day. All the staff was very helpful and seeing the capuchin monkeys was a treat. Getting around using the public bus was a breeze. Would definitely come back again.
Friendly staff and clean rooms. The on-site restaurants are convenient and provide excellent food and service. We stayed in building B and had a great view of both the pool and ocean.
We had a great view if the ocean. Our room was very clean and came with a kitchenette. We had two queen beds with clean linen. We had a wardrobe with a safe inside for free. We had a table for use and a TV on the wall. The bathroom was nice with a big shower and a nice sink for getting ready. The trails around the hotel are very nice and well marked and at night time they have colored bottles around the lights to make it really pretty. The staff is warm and inviting and they all speak English. I would recommend this hotel definitely. It's a good value for the price and it is only one mile from Manuel Antonio Park. You can walk to the beach in about 5 to 7 minutes.
If you're tired of staying in Grand hotels, and want some real flavor and beauty, this is the place to go. It's very clean and funky with so much tropical flavor, it was perfect for us after staying in high-rise hotels for the past week and a half. It's quite spread out, as we had to get a ride to get to our friends room which was probably a half a mile away. But they are there immediately to take you from place to place with a smile. I highly recommend this very authentic and beautiful place. People are so friendly and helpful. Probably 10 restaurants all together spread out over probably five acres. There are old airplanes probably from wartime that they've converted into bars. Give it a try.
Fantastic views of the pacific sunsets and close to the National Park and beach. A bit hilly but great place. Also makes interesting use of old planes
We had a couple of visitors on the balcony each morning.
Great location! Breathtaking views of Manuel Antonio National park and beach.
They have five different restaurants, el avion hast great views and good food.
We spent three nights there, our room had a priceless ocean view and a kitchen which was a plus. Pool area it’s nice, great views and clean but they do not offer pool service.
The best of all was the wild life, we saw iguanas, monkeys(troublemakers) toucans and other different birds.
I spent my vacation there and it was wonderful! Beautiful views (the 1st picture was taken from inside our hotel room) and so many animals! The people there are so nice. I would definitely go back. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because getting to the beach is a pain if you don't have a car. It's a short walk, but it's very steep. A shuttle would be nice. Other than that it was great!
Hard beds but still 5 stars! The beds are too firm, but the service is great and especially Isabel the wedding planner and William who works the bar at night by the adult only pool. The views are superb, wildlife all around you. You won't be dissapointed with this hotel unless hard beds being the only negative is a game changer for you.
Great hotel. Included a full kitchen and a great view of the ocean. Staff is friendly and there is a lot to do. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great near-beech place to stay. A+
Amazing views, very kind and helpful staff! Second time in Manuel Antonio and have to say that this was the perfect choice of hotels. Would definitely stay here again!
Quirky place with great views over ocean. Close to some lively restaurants and breakfast is good too.
Great views and cool rooms.
This hotel stretches along the road to Manuel Antonio park. The location is perfect for going to the park yourself or with a guide. Views are amazing from some of the rooms and you have to check out the airplane rooms. Breathtaking! Several good restaurant options do you won't go hungry. Good location for an early morning run down to the beach, along the beach, and then up the other side for a 5k route.
We stayed in the plane room. It was amazing. The deck overlooks the jungle with the ocean in the distance. Early in the morning and late at night, the monkeys travel to and from the national park. We got some great memories.
Incredible view from our room. Friendly staff, well-maintained property. They have some really unique rooms, two of them made out of airplanes. I thought the beds were incredibly hard. But the view makes up for it. The monkeys are everywhere and quite mischievous! The location is perfect if you are walking and need to get to a restaurant. It's close to the beach and multiple places to eat. I recommend walking to the beach versus driving - just be ready for a hike at a decent incline on the way home. 20 minutes max. Most the staff speaks English. Restaurant food is pretty good and their staff members are super attentive. Make sure you go to breakfast in the restaurant to see the full monkey show, for some reason, that's when they really come out.
Big room, but the water flow in the shower is terrible. No cell phone reception in the room and WiFi (and landline phone) was down several times during our 3 days stay.
Great resort if you stay in the right room. My wife and I were married at Costa Verde. We traveled with our kids to Costa Verde to experience some of the great times we had. Unfortunately we stayed in bungalow A15. We didn't mind the extra cost since we knew we'd be comfortable, but we didn't know we were staying right next to a maintenance shed. 20 feet off of our balcony was metal cutting, metal grinding, drilling, sawing, etc for a better part of every day. Not only was it deafening (ears ringing), our kids had trouble sleeping for nap time. Make sure you book the right room Maintenance sheds are sprinkled throughout the compound.
We traveled trough many beaches on the Pacific Coast, this is the only hotel I would return to. It's proximity to the National Park is wonderful, giving access to hiking, and the most pristine, quiet, clear water beach we found in Costa Rica. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, and the food at near by restaurants was affordable and excellent. A kitchen is included and its very helpful to be able to prepare some meals in house. Lastly, the wild life you will see from your balcony is like none other: tucans, sloth, three different types of monkeys. Hotel Costa Verde offers a wonderful holiday experience.
Overall, our experience at Hotel Costa Verde was wonderful. We got lucky in our room assignment, in Costa Verde II overlooking the ocean and pool/deck area. We were somewhat disappointed at first because the website makes it seem as if the hotel is isolated between ocean and jungle with the nearest town 3 miles away--but it is in fact on a busy road in the town of Manuel Antonio. If we had been given a room near the road, we would have been frustrated by the traffic noise and/or lack of a good view. Also, the website does not make it clear that the beach is not connected to the hotel; the hotel does not provide transportation, towels, umbrellas, etc. We had to buy towels from the hotel gift shop and rent umbrellas from vendors for $10/day. Not a big deal--just not what we expected. The walk to the beach is easy--a 10-minute downhill walk on the busy road. The walk back is a lot harder since it's all steeply uphill; we didn't mind, though, because we enjoyed the exercise knowing we could cool off again in the hotel pool. Finally, the website doesn't make it clear that the "hotel shuttle" is not owned by the hotel but by an outside company that will charge a $50 fee if you have to change your pick-up time (our initial flight was cancelled, so we immediately notified the hotel and arranged for the shuttle to meet us the next day--still, we were surprised upon arrival to find that we were charged the cancellation fee). Back to the first sentence of this review, thoughoverall, we loved our stay at Hotel Costa Verde. Our room had a magnificent view and comfortable beds; the hotel made it easy to find tours and adventures in the area; and the beautiful national park and beach are both within walking distance. We ended up appreciating being in a city for the dining and supermarket options (by the way, we ate the fresh produce and drank tap water without any problems). In the end, we highly recommend the hotel but suggest that you request a room that is not on the main road--oh, and bring your own beach towels.
Great hotel with friendly service and clean rooms. There are a lot of options to eat and for things to do. There are a few restaurants near the hotel and the beach is also very close. There is a city also very close to the hotel. What a beautiful resort!!
