My wife and I originally intended to only stay here for 2 nights. However, after arriving to this location we fell in love with it. In fact we liked it so much hat we stayed additional 3 nights. First to tell you this location offers free breakfast. Its continental breakfast. However, you can always ask the server to make you a personalized omelette.

There are 2 Jacuzzi which are opposite from each other surrounded by distance and bushes and which makes them good locations the view of the Arenal Mountain and privacy from other hotel guests. There is a swimming pool in the center which is fairly clean and you can get a spectacular view of the mountain. Just make sure to put on plenty of Sun Tan because you will get burned. In my opinion you get your money's worth by booking the Standard Chalet, Mountain View rooms which have Panoramic Views of Arenal Volcano. Economy Rooms suck bad very uncomfortable and not made for middle class tourists.

Overall the staff were super friendly. The we ate dinner at night at this location. Dinner portions were small. I did enjoy the local Costa Rican rice and chicken and beans. My wife did not like any of their Pasta dishes. Costa Rican's do not know how to make any kind of Pasta. So if you want Pasta please book a trip to Italy.

This location has a Pool Table, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, and a Tour Reservation is located inside of the facility. There are horses on the property and you can ride them for $30.00 per person. We did not ride them because we already had done that in another city. Beware that this location is located in the jungle. So make sure you wear shoes and socks at night. Our neighbors had encountered a snake and had executed him before he got there. There are some nice trails to go for a walk and experience the real jungle in this hotel. Best time to go to this location is February, March, and April because its windy and Mosquito wont eat you too much.

If you book a tour from this location (Which is from another company located inside) be sure to leave a tip for the tour guide.

The best view of the Arenal volcano if you're lucky enough to see it. The first day we were there we were able to see it and it was beautiful. 1/4 days we were there and even that was lucky based on what one of our tour guides told us In the first 60 days of the year 5 were clear enough to see the volcano entirely.

However the rooms seem old, bed is incredibly uncomfortable, pillows are the most lumpy things I've ever seen. Rooms are overall pretty dirty and the windows don't close, at least in our room, so you hear everything outside including an atv driving up to the lodge in the middle of the night. The taxi to la fortuna alone will cost you $35 one way and take 25 minutes. Food isn't too expensive but wasn't cheap. I also didn't have a meal there that I could say was good mostly mediocre. Breakfast buffet was ok better than most of the meals you will pay additionally for.

Also almost forgot the "butterfly garden" is incredibly run down and feels like you are waiting to get murdered there.

Lovely grounds with great views if you are lucky and the area is not covered in fog and clouds. However, the place feels very dated with little care. Our house had a moldy ceiling in most rooms, when it rained it simply came straight through dripping into the bedroom and other rooms. We told them but all they did is come by and agreed that it's raining in, then left with no follow up or apology at all. TV didn't work, again we told them but no attempt of rectifying the issue. WiFi works about 5% of the time. We asked them to switch on the jacuzzi for us and heat it up. We waited in our swimming costumes going there after 20 minutes to find out they forgot. Restaurant is charging 4x the price of meals in la Fortuna and quality is a lot lower. Don't trust Google maps, the drive into town is 30 minutes each way.

Nice place on the hill with good weather the volcano is visible. The rooms need a refurbishment but the lobby and restaurant is ok. It is possible to make a 1hr. walk in the forest.

Wonderful staff. Clean. One of the best views of Arenal volcano. Food was sufficient but not spectacular. Our room was large and unusually laid out but there are a variety of buildings and probably a variety of rooms.

Bed was hard as a rock, room had one bath towel and 2 hand towels in itfor 2 people. Mini fridge was unplugged. Food in the restaurant is all fried in the same oil so your fries taste a bit like fish. View is amazing and personnel were super friendly though

Very comfortable peaceful location on a mountain top with the most amazing view of the volcano along with an amazing staff. I would seriously recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

I absolutely loved this place and cannot say enough good things about it. The staff were kind and friendly and helpful, the grounds were gorgeous, the buffet breakfast, the pool, the overgrown brick pathways winding through the jungle, the coffee scrub, the Butterfly Garden (that no longer has butterflies) and that view! We could have spent our whole trip here and been perfectly happy. I can't wait to go back!

Well maintained hotel with great view of Arenal Volcano. Has nice restaurant, hiking trails in rain forest. Some units have kitchen. Hotel long way from supermarkets in La Fortuna. Visitors should buy food there before arriving.

If you love rustic one of a kind places, this is perfect for you ! Great owners(Maria and Freddy), beautiful grounds! Be sure to check out the trails they have to hike, lots of cool stuff to see ! Food was reasonable and solid, drinks were also notable, free breakfast was a fresh, yummy selection of "tipico" items don't miss the Guaro Sour when it's time for a drink. As other reviews state, it is a hike off of the main road (8 to 10 minute ride up a steep road) Consider the ride up the price of unbelievable tranquility. Also keep in mind as you ride up this 2.3 km trail that the owners made all of the pavers on site! This place epitomizes the spirit of Pura Vida !
