I had a REALLY good stay here back in March 2015. I got a private room with air conditioning and it was great. The staff was really nice, I enjoyed the breakfast and the view from up on top of the hill is amazing. Easy to get to the park or beach walking from here, and the staff helped me book a couple tours to do too. The hill is really steep and a hard climb, but I enjoyed the challenge. They did have a golf cart that would take you to the top too. Probably a much better idea. I was able to see a toucan and a few lizards just walking around too.

For 30$ a night is not a bad deal, but the private rooms are small dark rooms that are not really great. For the same amount of money I have found better options and quality around costa rica.

The worst hostel I have stayed at. If you want to sleep DON'T GO HERE. Tons of people making noise late at night. Bright lights shining directly on the beds. Sketchy people about. Don't recommend.

El Faro, i used to go a lot for the restaurant in the top of a fun container hotel. The chef is a cool guy and the people really friendly

Rooms are noisy and smells quite bad. If you're staying on the very top, you'll have a great view, but be prepared to walk a very steep hill every time you get back to your room. We had another problem right at check-in when the staff was not finding the apartment key, giving a lot of excuses and making us waiting for about 2 hours without giving any solution. It's hard to find hotels with good price in the area, but if you have other options, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Rooms were okay, sheets were not clean. Air circulation was poor so it was incredibly hot and humid in night. I wouldn't recommend to stay at this hostel.
