The Dreamsea campsite is located in a beautiful jungle and centralized to the main beaches in Tamarindo. The guests and volunteers, the food, the surf lessons, and the nightlife with the camp are all amazing. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to tune themselves with nature, meet a bunch of cool people, and surf.

The concept is nice and it follows the idea of the official dreamsea concept. In fact when I went there it was listed in the official site. But when I was there everything was really poor, from the accommodation to the services and the organization. Probably this is why this camp is not part of the official Dreamsea anymore

Incredible place. 5 star food, 5 star surfing, 5 star people. Parties, yoga, food. Have I mentioned the food? I can't describe in words how great this place is. Just GO!

NEVER go here as a guest. Come here as a volunteer. The experience is pretty good and you do meet a lot of great people. If you come as a guest though you will pay more than double what you should have for the same experience as a volunteer. It is nice to have the full package with surfing, trips, etc., but there is a lot of small things that need to change about this place to really make it what they advertise. It is nothing like what you think it will be.

Dreamsea Costa Rica is a life-changing experience. Living deep into the jungle surrounded by every shade of green, with bright blue butterflies the size of your hand floating past every so often, feels surreal at first. When I first saw a family of monkeys clamber through the trees at dawn just a couple of meters away, I knew I’d found somewhere truly special. Little did I know this would be a regular occurrence! Being outdoors 99% of the time – even the dorm is open air – has had an amazing impact on me both physically and mentally. Combined with the heart-warming sense of family you feel here instantly, the colourful, healthy meals, the yoga and the surf, you will leave Dreamsea feeling whole.

Not really what we expected; it‘s more like a yoga camp with a kind of special, spiritual atmosphere. Food is ok but if you are just 5 minutes late (they shout „breakfast is ready“) everything is gone already. Tents are basic but good

I really liked the Dreamsea surf camp! The food is great, people are genuine and friendly and everyone I met was super helpful. The free salsa lecture is definitely an extra bonus. I would recommend it to anyone who loves nature, new experiences and meeting new people!

Dream Sea is a amazing place where you get to reconnect with nature, meet cool like minded people from all over the world, have lots of fun and enjoying one of the best surfing spots in the world at Tamarindo beach. Each day is different in which you get to experience new things. Staying in the jungle of Costa Rica where you can see the monkeys and other animals which you normally would not encounter. If you are looking for a place to have the time off your life, learn surfing, meeting new people then Dream Sea is the place to go for you!

This place is truly beautiful. It's great for those who want to escape a materialistic life and live simply, surrounded by nature. There is a free shuttle to and from the nearby Playa Tamarindo every day, where you can soak up the sun and take affordable surf lessons from the awesome instructors. There are also fun nightclubs in the town that everyone goes to on certain nights.
The camp itself is very peaceful and has things like yoga, group meditation, drinking games, salsa dancing lessons, table tennis, hammocks, hula hoops, and pull-up bars to entertain during down time. The group breakfasts and dinners are also delicious, and the constant presence of cats and dogs around the camp is great if you love animals.
The weather is very hot and humid, and the bugs can be quite vicious at certain times of the day. Definitely bring lightweight clothes, a rain jacket, sunscreen, bug spray, sneakers for walking around the rocky grounds, and some plastic bags to keep valuables dry in case of rain. The showers are cold, which honestly feels great after a day in the heat. Also between guests and volunteers it's a great way to meet new people and enjoy a social atmosphere.

Dreamsea Surf Camp was an amazing experience! People are very friendly, caring, interesting, and professional. The place is beautiful and well organized. It felt like a great community. There were many activities, including surf and yoga lessons with wonderful instructors, trips to waterfalls, soccer games, and many more.
I was helping in the kitchen as a volunteer, and I would like to say a big thank you to Lula who was daily making most delicious and healthy meals for dozens of people. It was a great pleasure to learn from Lula how to cook new types of dishes and to improve my Spanish. She is a very kind and extremely well organized person, and also very wise. I feel that I learned a lot from her in different aspects. I will miss her.
I would also like to say thank you to all other great people at Dreamsea who made this trip unforgettable! Would love to come back one day.

Dreamsea changed my life. Surprisingly this isn’t a rare occurance. This enchanted jungle touches everyone that dares enter these mystical trees of Costa Rica haha. I don’t know what it is, maybe the essence of family dinners with complete strangers, or those complete strangers that end up being people you talk to years later and say “I can’t believe we were both there at the same time. It was meant to be.”, or perhaps the nights where your mind can finally be still and you can just listen to the unique sound of monkeys howling in the night, or even get a group of people to go stargaze at the clear infinite sky, maybe its sitting around a bonfire singing with the most genuine people from all over the world you'll ever meet. I’m not exactly sure, but Dreamsea touched my heart in ways I can’t quite explain in words. Dreamsea brought my heart back home, its one of the best places I’ve ever known. Please let yourself have the beautiful feeling of being.

Please let yourself have the beautiful feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be, at exactly the right moment. When is the last time you felt that?

    PS Food: to die for!!!!

Accommodations: uhhh the freaking best!! You get to be completely and authentically surrounded by nature and wildlife! What else do you need?!

Wow dreamsea was such an amazing experience for me. The camp is seriously magical. Being one with nature, living in the most simplest way and not needing a lot changes your perspective on life. Deep gratitude and appreciation for little things started arising out of no where. I felt more alive and rooted than ever before. The whole crew is so loving and caring especially Carlos. The compassion and great energy he puts into the camp is felt by everyone. Not only did I get to connect with people all over the world. I also got to connect with myself on a deeper level. The things I thought I knew about myself were nothing compared with the feeling & love I left with. The camp has definitely imprinted something beyond on my heart and I will never forget those special eye opening moments. Besides the immense burst of positive energy. I got to learn how to surf which was easier than I expected. There's so many opportunities and things to do for everyone. I mean from chilling on the beach, surfing, horseback riding on the beach, hiking, living in the jungle to going out drinking, clubbing and talking to the locals. You get the whole Costa Rican experience. Also the food was amazing. I'm a vegan so it's hard sometimes to get variety but at the camp they had it all from meat lovers to vegetarians and vegans and the best part was that it was barely ever the same. I've met so many beautiful people there and loved the unity. You would never feel left out! I mean I'm a pretty open minded person but even if you are shy people will come up to you & start a conversation I promise. If you are closed minded and not there to have fun and step out of your comfort zone then it is not the place for you. If you're used to routine and have morals you follow don't bring the bad energy to the camp you will feel left out. I really wanted to extend my trip because I had so much fun but it didn't work out. I'll be back for sure though. Anyway A huge thank you to the whole dreamsea crew and all the beautiful people I've met for making this stay such a magical experience. Much love & good luck to everyone!

Muy buena experiencia. Me encantó aprender Surf. La comida muy buena y el staff tiene muy buena onda y comprometido en lo que hacen. Además de conocer gente de muchos lugares del.munod e intercambiar experiencias. Lo mejor, despertarse en el medio de la selva con los monos en los los árboles. Increíble. Muchas gracias Dream Sea Costa Rica.

This place turned out to be more then I was expecting, I was expecting my own little tent in the woods to act as a base for exploring. In the end the tent was the least of my memories. A great community of people that you spend all day with, surfing, exploring talking and just building lasting relationships. A very welcoming place, that may not be for everyone (but should be) as some may come looking for more modern conveniences.

I REALLY wanted to love DreamSea. I was ecstatic about getting to teach yoga here. However, it's hard to give a place my all, when the staff clearly doesn't care much about it. This place looks completely different in person compared to what the website photos show - a complete misrepresentation in my opinion. I highly recommend spending your money somewhere else. If I had paid as a guest to stay here I would have been disappointed. I stayed as a volunteer, but met two guests there which were both very disappointed. The camp was run down, tents were moldy and falling apart, and everything about the camp grounds looked like it's seen better days. Supposedly they were replacing all tents and revamping everything before the high season, so this could be improved now. Even so, the organization is awful here, and the surf board are absolutely awful for the price you pay. When I was there they only had 9 boards, for a camp that supposedly has 40+ paying guests at certain times. If you are considering volunteering, look around camp before paying your fee and deside if you really want to stay. They will NOT refund any money, even if you change your mind 15 minutes later. Be warned!

We had a great time here! It is not for anyone expecting AC or luxury accommodations. It is upgraded camping. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Bring lots of strong bug repellent. I think the mosquitos were laughing at the stuff I brought. Waking up to hear the Howler Monkeys right outside the tent was cool though. The community is younger and people (us included) tend to stay up late tipping a few back. So there ya go.
