The hotel is nice and the staff was attentive and solved a few problems we had with our room immediately. The food at the buffet restaurant is pretty decent, the fruit is very good. Same for the snack bar. The reason for only giving it 3 stars is because the staff allows the guests to behave in a most uncivil way: they let people eat and drink around and inside the pool, and food and drink will eventually fall in the water They also allow guests to leave items to hold the pool chairs overnight, so no matter how early you arrive there are many chairs already taken, with no one there. If these behaviours don’t bother you, you’ll probably enjoy staying here, otherwise look for a more upscale hotel to stay.

All ages seen here and something for everyone. Clean beach, great food selection, food at any time you want it, all inclusive is worth it. Very very comfortable beds. Tamarindo and this hotel is definitely somewhere I want to return!!!! Do not buy items in the gift shop though as it's very overpriced. Items in town are less expensive. If you are up for a day trip, go to Nicaragua as shopping there is much better! Leather and clothes are their specialty.

All inclusive resort. Nice decor. Nice landscaping. Very nice beach. The pool is nice, but the hot tub section of the pool is not actually heated. It is slightly cooler than the main section of the pool. There is an amphitheater for shows in the evening, but the shows are not very entertaining.

The food service is very good, and the servers speak and understand the Queen's English reasonably well. The food quality is good, but not great. The rooms have air conditioning that works properly. The daytime activities are not particularly interesting. One would normally expect an activity such as snorkeling to be included at a beach all inclusive, but here, it's extra and off site. There is an indoor exercise area, but it's small. The few exercise machines are in working order. They have one beach volleyball court and a volleyball net in the pool. You have to notify the spa fifteen minutes in advance if you want to use the sauna so they can warm it up.

Great staff. Very friendly. Only has 1 restaurant with a short menu, but the food was very good. Beautiful gardens surround the hotel. Nice beach but too many stray dogs walking around. Large pool area with lots of chairs. Comfortable lounge area to just relax in during the evening. It has all the comforts you will need. Rooms are comfortable however very dated.

The road to get there in bad shape. Needs lots of work. But the resort occidental was very beautiful. The hosts were very nice and always willing to go out of there way to help you. Very nice experience. I will consider going back.

We have been here 2 days now and are having a great time. The all inclusive meals provide a wide variety of foods in a buffett style, and everything I have tried has been delicious. The rooms are clean, spacious and have very comfortable beds. The grounds are beautiful with lots of wildlife and the beach and nature preserve is spectacular. Super staff and entertainers. Best all-inclusive I have ever stayed at for the price. (8 days 7 nights 2 people food drinks entertainment---less than 1500 bucks through Southwest Airlines) Better than the Marriott because it is way more relaxed and less snooty or stuffy. Pura Vida!

Exqusite resort with great views and great amenities. The front desk check in was by far the worst thing I've encountered and won an award for the most confused longest and least informative. The food is absolutely terrible but I guess it is all inclusive , but I would be hesitant to feed it to a starving animal.

Very nice and clean, enjoyed the sites, only thing I would have liked better is the quality of the wifi you pay for by the day, if it's an additional charge of should be stronger and more accessible from more then just the pool and bar

Rooms are nice, the food is good if simple, the people are very friendly. It is impossible to get room service I tried 3 times with no success, I was supposed to have a bottle of champagne in my room on arrival, it never came. The nightlife leaves something to be desired and It is a long walk to town, they should shuttle especially at night. Overall a B-plus.

People make the difference for me and these people are wonderful. Every person went above and beyond to please our group

Shout out to Mr. 0/0, Alberto our waiter, the dancers and so many more!

    The beach was beautiful

    Loved
The omlete bar for breakfast and the salad bar for lunch and dinner. They also served wonderful fruits!

Stayed here a while ago, the staff was super friendly, really enjoyed the beach and the food, and couple of the organized trips. Walked to Tamarindo along the sea which was amazing.

Was here during the rainy season and got trapped here during a tropical storm. The staff was super nice and we had everything we needed for the longer stay.

We had a great time at this hotel, it had several different things to offer for its customers and the pool area was real nice, also it had a bar snack area, comfortable lounge chairs and a relaxing environment. For an all-inclusive I would say it was good and definitely had everything you need Is fair to mention the staff was very friendly and on top of things, it was a wonderful experience and a great value.

A nice all included hotel, it's fun and the food is great but it could be better. Wifi is bad and service in the restaurant isn't always the best. Not much night life.

There weren't parking spaces I had to leave my car on the road where is unsafe to leave the car on street, I had Barcelo membership and did the check in online I did the line for premium check in to get my key, the main desk was a mess the normal check in was faster only 1 person in front of me and they don't prioritize the premium costumers at the end the regular line was faster. Infrastructure: rooms are ok, but only 1 swimming pool, that gets crowed easily.
All inclusive: at the swimming pool they only offer "natural drinks" and beer, no cocktails and sodas. It's more expensive than RIU Guanacaste but it's worse. This isn't comparable to RIU, next time I'll go to RIU never this one

Didn't stay but walked by a few times visiting playa langosta. Looks nice. The beach in front is beautiful but volcanic rock formation. You need to cross a mouth of an estuary to go to a complete white sand beach without rock. Depends what your looking for swimming or walking on the beach.

The hotel is really nice beautiful pool area and lots of space. The beach had volcanic rock and the tide was out quite far it was beautiful. The food is only served at certain times but they have a cute snack bar, limited options. There is only one main bar so there is sometimes a line for drinks but the Staff is quick and friendly. Lovely place to stay. $5 cab from the Tamarindo strip and beach for surfing lessons and yoga retreats. Lots of great bars along the beach there. It's quite far from the Liberia airport just over an hour but worth the drive, plus it's beautiful.

Great family place. Good atmosphere. Ecology is #1 here. Beach is awesome. Water temperature couldn't be better. Friendly staff. Good food. If you're into mega resorts, this isn't for you. If you're into relaxing, family and fun in the sun then you need to be here.

The beach area wasn't great for swimming with a lack of sand. As someone who prefers adult only it wasn't okay. The pool bartenders lacked skill. Nice entertainment provided daily and nightly. The food was slightly above average.
