I had rented a Budget vehicle from Liberia airport and the next day was involved in a minor collision (rear ended by a distracted driver) just outside Playas del Coco. Jorge, the manager of the PdC Budget office came to the site of the accident, provided solid advice, called the police, spoke to the Budget people at Liberia airport, and prepared all of the paperwork to deal with the insurance reporting. In addition, when I was having issues with my credit card's insurance coverage, he negotiated a reduction on the cost of the repair to allow me to cover the charges on my card. Overall, Jorge did a FANTASTIC job and was unfailingly polite, efficient and professional.

Just as an aside re: other people's comments about insurance charges: in Costa Rica, there is mandatory liability insurance coverage over and above the rental cost of the car. This is different from most other jurisdictions so can be a nasty surprise. This is not Jorge's issue nor is it Budget's issue - it is a legal requirement in CR.

We reserve a car 2 months in advance and when we came to pick up the car, they say there was no car for us. We were in playa del Coco in the Christmas week and we didn't have car. They had no solution for us.

We have rented from this location numerous times while in the Coco Beach area. We have always used Budget car rental, Jorge is the reason we keep coming back. He has always given us great service on all levels and have had a wonderful experience.

Total scam artist trying to fudge numbers on insurance so he can make commissions. Against the law and against corporate policy - it's called insurance fraud. When I called him out on it I video recorded his response which included him assaulting me. Going straight to corporate with this one. After the ordeal I went to Alamo National and had one if the best rental experiences ever. Please don't do business here! You have been warned!

Be careful they will try and rip you off. With the insurance. You see a price for a car 22.00 a day and you think wow that's not bad, but you have to also get the basic insurance is on top of that at 25.00 extra a day plus the extra extra insurance for 10.00 a day that covers things like windshield damage scratches flats. You can tell them that you have the extra coverage on you credit card and they want a 400 to 1500 dollar deposit. Just so you know
